3 Belted seats 2 Adult berths 1 Child berths
All of our campervans are beautiful and Thor really does hammer home that point. This thunder-ful, pet-friendly camper is the perfect companion for all types of getaways. His stylish whitewashed design has been expertly complimented with dark wood and navy furnishings to create a modern, yet cosy feel throughout. There will be no faffing around at night, as Thor sleeps two in a fixed comfy double bed; after a day of romantic seaside strolls, you can slide straight in. Room for a little one? The two seats can be quickly transformed into a single bed, perfect for a child, or into a sofa giving you front-row seats to Thor's projector-powered, mobile-home-cinema!
Described by his owners as a "foodie's dream", Thor has everything you need to cook up some campsite comfort food. He's fitted with a 2 ring gas hob, a wide selection of pans and a refrigerator to keep your food fresh and drinks cold. There is even a wine rack with room for three bottles! Ever dreamt of owning your own pizzeria on wheels? Consider it done. You have the option to add on an Ooni Pizza Oven which can use Thor's own gas supply to cook a pizza in 60 seconds. What better end to a day than to park up with a wonderful view, watching your dough rise as you sink into a comfy chair with a cold glass of wine?
Looking to venture off the beaten track? No problem. Thor has enough power to keep you charged, a toilet and outdoor shower to keep you fresh and comfortable and a heater to keep you warm. Whether you’re seeking a romantic nest for you and your significant other, or a practical and homely base for your family trip, Thor has all the ingredients to serve up an unforgettable break.
About the Campervan
Description of Beds: Thor sleeps three. There’s a raised, permanent double bed (177x137cm) at the rear of the van, perfect for adults, and the two seats can also be quickly transformed into a lower, single bed (177x54cm) perfect for a child.
Description of Seating: For driving, there are three belted seats in the front (including driver) with headrests. When you’re camping, there are two seats in the back on either side of a pop-out dining table, and they can also be transformed into a sofa, perfect for movie nights, with plenty of room for two and maybe a third if they’re small!
Description of Electrical Setup: Thor is designed to live off the grid, with a solar panel powering a lithium battery, which is also charged whenever you drive. That leaves plenty of power for an inverter, powering two mains sockets, 5x USB-A ports and 3x USB-C ports. There’s no electrical hook-up for campsites but we’re yet to find a need for one!
About the area: Thor lives on a quiet residential street in London SE12, just past Lewisham and Greenwich. Trains from London Bridge and Charing Cross stop at Lee Station, eight minutes walk away, about three times every hour. He’s also well situated for travel out of London, with easy access to the A20 towards Kent. It’s less than a 20 minutes drive to the M25.
Parking: Thor lives on the street outside our house and you’re welcome to leave your own car with us, to hold on to his space. There’s no need for parking permits or payment. If you’re coming by train, we’re happy to collect you from Lee Station.
Cooking Equipment: Thor is a foodie’s dream! Inside you’ll find two gas-powered hobs next to the sink, with a wide selection of pans, a frying pan, a stove-top espresso maker and a kettle. Optional extras include a Weber Q1200 Gas Barbecue and an Ooni Pizza Oven, both of which can be hooked up to the external gas point on the van.
You’ll also find a full complement of crockery and cutlery, with dinner plates, side plates and serving plates (4 of each), four place settings of beautiful cutlery, knives, a bread knife, a chopping board, Joseph & Joseph washing bowl, drying rack and stackable accessory set (mixing bowls, colander, sieve, etc). For your drinks, you’ll find juice glasses, wine tumblers and hi-balls (4 of each) plus two fabulous Yeti Rambler mugs to keep your hot drinks nice and warm. Dishcloths, tea towels and a dish brush are also included.
Audio Equipment: Up front, there’s a radio with Bluetooth and an Aux input, as well as a USB-A port for charging any device. In the back, there’s an Anker Capsule II. This magical device is about the size of a can of beer and works as a great Bluetooth speaker, but attach it to the ceiling mount and pop out the projector screen and Thor turns into a cosy home cinema on wheels! Play your own files via the USB port or tether it to your phone and use the Roku stick to get access to a wide range of apps like Netflix and Disney+, or even AirPlay or Chromecast your phone or laptop to the big screen.
Water and Sanitation: An electric pump connected to a 50l tank puts running water at your finger-tips and, thanks to the on-board LPG supply, there’s hot running water too. For real off-grid freedom, there’s also an external shower running from the same hot water feed. (We don’t recommend drinking from the tank, so refillable bottles are supplied for this.) There’s also a portable toilet which stashes away in one of the seats. We only use it if we’re off grid but we leave it in for every rental and all chemicals and toilet roll are provided. It must be fully cleaned before return.
Type of Heating: Thor has a gas-powered air heater for colder nights, making him suitable for trips all year round. For the hotter months, we’ve insulated him well to keep the heat out; a large ceiling fan along with two directable, bedside USB fans also keep you cool as you sleep.
Extra Features: Aside from his striking colour scheme and beautiful, matching wooden kitchen worktop and table, Thor’s owners favourite features are the home cinema, the built-in wine-rack and the suspended shelf over the bed, with handy charging points for all of your gadgets. There are three spacious (for a van!) cupboards in the kitchen and two in the bedroom for all your stuff, plus ample kitchen storage space for all the items provided.
Conversion Story: Thor had been a long-time ambition for owners Tom and David but there always seemed to be something else to do. Lockdown put paid to that and, in October 2020, they bought a 2018 Peugeot Boxer and converted it from scratch. He’s designed to be perfect for two adults who love the things we do - travel, good food, wine, music and movies. Everything was designed from scratch and hand-built; if you’d like to see the whole story, check out all 20 episodes of the conversion vlog on YouTube.
