Volkswagen T2 Bay
We’re selling our VW Campervan (2002 Brazilian T2 Bay Air-cooled left-hand drive) as we’re moving away from the UK. The camper was handed down to us by family about 7 years ago and has had major upgrades done to the gearbox and mechanics in 2022. We’re looking for around £4,500, which factors in the fact that it is in good working order but would benefit from some bits of work.
Mechanics:
* It has been SORNED and kept off-road in London since we went travelling 2 years ago. Just had a new battery installed by the AA so it runs perfectly.
* Most recent MOT passed with no issues in July 2023.
* Gearbox refurbished and replaced in 2022 with a VW Beetle gearbox (we can provide all paperwork for this)
* Full engine service, main and leisure battery replaced and CV joints replaced in 2022.
* Around 102,000 miles on the clock.
* 1.6 air-cooled engine, no radiator, 1600cc, running on unleaded petrol.
* Panel has warning lights for engine temperature.
* Scorpion immobiliser fitted with key fob.
Exterior:
* Classic red and white bodywork.
* Includes classic features such as white bumpers, VW spare-tyre cover etc.
* Classic pop-top roof with grey canvas and black edge trim. The roof needs some repairs to bring it back to 100%, but we didn’t get these done as we found handy workarounds for our road trips around the UK. The canvass is torn which we taped up, and the hydraulic rod to prop it up needs replacing so we used wooden beams instead. We’ve factored these works into the price and reduced it accordingly.
Interior:
* Up front are 2 adjustable beige driver and passenger seats; in the back are 2 forward-facing passenger seats which slide out to make the ‘rock and roll’ bed (which sleeps two adults).
* On the driver’s side, behind the seat, is a 2-ring gas hob, with a grill underneath, supplied by the gas bottle located underneath.
* 12v socket and leisure battery which can be hooked up to mains; electrics need some fixes (reflected in the reduced price).
* Fitted with cold water pump tap and an aluminium sink with drain to underside of camper.
Rock & roll bed which flips up using the back 2 passenger seats – sleeping 2 adults.
