Meet Roadie,

We purchased Roadie in early 2023 for a European summer adventure. Almost expired visas and the summoning of home means we are returning to Australia and Roadie is looking for a new owner.

Despite her size Roadie is a dream to drive. With neither of us having ever driven vans or large vehicles, we adjusted easily. The all terrain tyres have allowed us to confidently access some hidden locations and gorgeous beaches. Some so beautiful you’ll want to stay for days; and you can (!!!) because Roadie is fully off grid capable.

The dual solar panels keep the fridge icy cold, so there’s always cold beer ready for your next stop. The water tank holds up to 80L, and is always safe for drinking thanks to the inbuilt charcoal and paper filter. Roadie has 8 USB and 6 power points. Appliances all have their own seperate connections so these are purely for leisure and devices. The dual hob is connected to a 7.5kg butane gas canister. Our current tank has lasted more than 2 months with consistent daily use, so it’s super efficient and amazing value for money.

With everything you need comfortably inside, Roadie is perfect for stealth camping. This has been particularly handy for long trips when there’s no ‘camping’ areas to stop over. The blackout curtains are so efficient that even with the interior LED lights on, people passing by can’t tell there’s someone cooking dinner inside. The wall insulation is so good that music and conversation inside isn’t audible from outside the van. It’s so comfortable and private that at times when the doors are closed and the curtains drawn I forget if we’re on a beach or parked in a truck stop.

Roadie is fitted with a Truma Combi boiler. This is essentially a heater and hot water system powered by the gas canister. Operated by a wall panel by the bed, when switched on it pumps hot air through to 3 exit point vents. One under the bed (acting as sort of an electric blanket), one under the dining table and one in the bathroom, meaning you don’t freeze after a winter night shower or late night wee.

Living in the van full time has allowed us ample opportunity to understand the particularities and frustrations of vanlife. The new owners will benefit from both the aesthetic and functional improvements we have invested into Roadie. Hooks in all the right places, secure storage so things do go flying etc etc. All learned through trial and error by us so you don’t have to.

We are including everything in the sale price, so the van will be immediately ready for living/exploring! Think kitchenware, bedding, camping gear and so on.

Roadie is available to inspect/purchase from mid to late August 2023. Our location is variable because we live in the van. Please get in touch via email or WhatsApp.
