2019 Vauxhall Movano Luxury Camper, Low Milage, L2H2

The previous owner (carpenter) converted this van, and as a carpenter and experienced converter myself I’ve gone over it meticulously — it’s all been completed to a high standard. Cabinetry is made to fit rather than bought in, with radiused corners, black edge trim and closing catches throughout. If you’ve looked at a few DIY conversions you’ll know the difference when you open the doors. Since buying I’ve added the things I felt it lacked: a better fresh/waste water system, a gas safety locker, safety alarms etc.

The layout is a fixed transverse double across the back, custom 6ft mattress, full UK double width. The bed stays made up, which we’ve always preferred — no rebuilding it after a long drive. Underneath is a full-width garage with heavy rubber matting and chequer plate up the sides, so wet and muddy gear is no problem, plus a large carpeted hanging shelf for luggage you want kept separate.

KITCHEN

• No solar — hook-up and driving keep it topped up for our use, but it’s an easy addition

The van itself is in very good order for the mileage. Bodywork is good with a couple of small marks, no rust, spare wheel underneath, decent tread on the tyres. I’ve got the RAC history check to hand and it’s clean: no outstanding finance, never written off, stolen or imported, no plate or colour changes. There’s also a live weight monitor in the front console, a rare and genuinely useful feature. The van is speed limited to 70mph as it was originally a crew cab — we like it, but it’s easily removed.

Being honest about the gaps: no gas safety certificate or electrical sign-off. Everything’s been done properly and I’m happy to talk anyone through the wiring and plumbing. The reversing camera is fitted but not currently working — I’m trying to sort it while the van’s for sale.

L2H2 is a good size to live with. Full standing height, a real fixed bed, and it still fits a normal parking bay and drives like a big estate. Around 35mpg on a run. A very smart, clean van, that’s well built and well looked after. Ready for adventure!
