The conversion

The conversion is designed as a 2 berth with two single swivelling front captains seats, large kitchen area, fixed double bed, shower and toilet pod, small bench seat and lots of storage.

The garage is perfect for housing whatever hobbies or toys you might want to take with you on your travels, bikes, paddle boards, electric scooters or any number of other things. It has a large slide out tray to make loading easier and the units down each side contain the water tank, pump, gas bottle etc on one side and electrics on the other. The garage is 2000 L x 1280 W x 965mm H. The garage units are hex ply not in the same colour as the rest of the furniture, not to save cost but as it is much harder wearing and resistant to marking etc.

There is hot and cold running water, heating, lots of ventilation options with opening windows, skylight, roof fan etc, a pump refillable LPG gas system and off grid electric set up with solar panels, lithium batteries, inverter etc. We spent 4 weeks away in the van and the battery level never dropped below 80% at any point and most of the time was over 95%.

The kitchen has sink, oven, grill and 3 ring hob and large 90l fridge, not a tiny one as many conversions have where you struggle to fit enough in. The worktop is solid oak accenting the reed green interior nicely. There are also storage cupboards and cutlery drawer.

The bathroom has a mixer shower and Thetford cassette toilet with electric flush. Hot and cold water runs throughout the van. The bathroom is made from a one piece pod to reduce any possible leakage issues. There is an extractor fan and light in the bathroom along with shower curtain.

The bench seat houses the Truma combi heater/water heater beneath. Warm air is also ducted in to the bed as well as 2 outlets in to the main living area.

Storage cupboards surround the van at high level to make sure there is plenty of space for all you want to take on your travels. There is also a large curtain to split the cab from the living area in case you want a quick change or to be more low key when parked up than using the insulated screens.

The standard double sized bed is set lower than many so you can sit up in bed to read etc. There are storage troughs down each side and a mini bedside able at each end with light and USB charging point. The bed is 6’3 long.

The electrical system comprises of 300watts of solar panels on the roof, 200 amp hours of Lithium ion batteries and Victron inverter, solar charger and DC DC alternator/engine charger. The inverter is 1000w and I’ve used for charging ebikes, laptops etc when away.

The water system has a 100 litre fresh water tank housed in the garage, underslung 40l waste water tank, diaphragm pump and accumulator. The fresh tank gave two of us enough water for daily showers, washing up etc for 5-6 days between refills.

Included with the van are levelling blocks, insulated screens for all the front windows, fittings for refilling the LPG system etc.
