It’s with a heavy heart that we’re letting go of Jean Claude Van Dam, as we had an incredible vision for him. We bought this van for £12,000, intending to convert it into our dream camper after losing our daughter, hoping to travel and heal on the road. At first, we stripped it out, put a bed in the back, and took it on some unforgettable adventures. Then life took a beautiful but unexpected turn—we found out we were expecting a baby. The conversion went on hold, and now, with an upcoming move, we no longer have the space to finish it.

This van is an absolute gem. Saint John’s Ambulance only used it for summer events, which explains the exceptionally low mileage. It has been serviced every six months, and the engine is immaculate, making it a pleasure to drive. A huge chunk of the hard work is already done, including all the electrics, so there’s no need to worry about wiring. It has two solar panels mounted on the roof, a solar charger, a split relay, three leisure batteries, an inverter, and a night heater. There are more lights in the back than you can shake a stick at, plus a roof fan and a roof hatch for ventilation. It also comes with a fully functioning disabled access ramp, which could be kept or removed depending on your plans.

It has already been brought down to a weight class that allows it to be driven on a standard UK license. The rear ambulance lights are still on, but they can easily be removed if needed. This is an incredible base for someone looking to complete a unique camper conversion or repurpose it for another use. We’ll be sad to see it go, but we’d love for it to go to someone who can bring the vision to life.
