VAUXHALL VIVARO 2700 SPORTIVE 2.0 CDTI SWB
Boudicea is a 2013 reg 6 speed Blue Vauxhall Vivaro.
She’s been serviced annually and was MOT’d in March 2025.
Last year we gave her a bit of an overhaul and fitted a new clutch, fresh tyres and swivel seats for the two passenger seats.
Boudica is a simple self-build, insulated and fitted with a new ply lining and a tongue and grove ceiling with 4 down lighters. We’ve fitted her with a robust rubber floor to withstand the rigours of life on the road. We have also added a window in the back and an extractor fan in the roof.
The bed is a pull out wooden frame with a foam mattress that converts into a sofa or L-shaped seat. We’ve left the space underneath for storage and keep camping chairs, beach toys and our fire pit here.
The electrics sit behind the drivers seat in a custom built unit. They consist of a 12v leisure battery linked up to a split relay that charges from the vehicle battery when the engine is running. There are 2 USB charging outlets, a 12 volt charging outlet and a control panel for switching on the lights. More switches are available if you wanted to add more electrical outputs.
There is plenty of storage, with a large deep draw that we use for food and provisions and a headliner cupboard that we use for toiletries and books. Additionally, there is space under the kitchen counter top where we keep our water tank, gas bottle, fire wood and other bits and pieces. We cook using a camping stove that lives in its own custom built shelf in the kitchen unit.
Boudica is fitted with a double swivel seat under the two passenger seats that is super easy to use and massively increases the useability of the space in the back.
She also comes with a full set of fitted window covers.
We have lived on the road in Boudica comfortably for up to 3 weeks at a time staying at campsites and with friends and the occasional wild camp. We can safely say she’s ready to go out on a trip tomorrow but she would also be a great option for someone new to self-building who wants to adapt and add to her. We’ve done all the boring essential bits like insulation and electricals and there is definitely a lot of potential to add more creative touches and upgrades.
