Mercedes Sprinter LWB with mapped engine.
Engine remapped to approximately 190BHP and 420Nm Torque.
Rodney
We purchased our long wheelbase Mercedes sprinter in January 2023, with only 72k miles and a diamond 3 internal anti drill security system installed along with bonnet lock and working TVG fob to open side and rear doors.
Stylz Kustom had fitted this van with two 160 w solar panels onto the roof and the full victron system you can see in the photos. We purchased for £16,300 no vat. We have since spent in excess of £6000 on the following work.
Professional camper conversion company Tin bin conversions near faversham, were hired do the following in June 23:
Install Truma 6D water and space heater and water pump in garage. Diesel line connected to main Van diesel tank.
Install 2 under slung tanks for freshwater and wastewater.
Install Four-seater cab seat bolted through floor with 4 working seat belts at base of bed.
Install Sliding door openable window. And two openable bed windows.
Install Maxxfan positioned above bed.
Engine has been mapped to increase torque to really improve ability to pull weight of finished camper up hills , plus increased horsepower to equivalent of top spec sprinter engine, performed by Ruby Tunes mobile tuning near Canterbury.
We started working on the conversion ourselves after this by completing the following:
Fully insulated with recycled plastic roll and 50 mm celotex on all walls. Topped with bubble wrap foil insulation pinned by horizontal battons.
Roof insulated with multi-layer foil insulation. Secured with ply, ready to receive ceiling covering once electrical positions have been decided.
Insulation between battons on floor deck topped with new ply.
Double Memory foam mattress and fully supported timber bed frame across rear.
While on pause due to deciding on the final layout of the kitchen area, we had the gift of a new baby boy. With this new addition to our family, we have not had time to continue our project and have decided to move house instead, hence the need for the sale of our partially completed dream. We had spec’d Rodney to be able to go off grid on a long trip to the Alps. The van is at the stage where electrical and plumbing layout needs to be decided and then it’s just boarding and fitting a ktichen. We had planned a wrap or spray to exterior as there are a few minor scrapes, but this could also just be repaired and blended into the white for a budget friendly option to get it gleaming again. Hopefully someone out there can finish what we started and enjoy this type of adventure. We will catch you up one day!
Our 2 Mots have passed with no issues except new wipers, last MOT was Jan 25. Dash is however now saying Brake Wear visit workshop so this will need doing soon. And there is a free of charge recall with Mercedes regarding passenger airbag which hasn’t yet been done. Mileage is only 76k.
£20,000 ono. We would obviously like to get close to getting our invested money back, but we are open to sensible offers.
Double memory foam mattress across rear.
