VW Transporter T28 TDi 1.9 102hp
1.9 Diesel engine with 102 HP. 5 manual gears. An 80 Litre tank and Euro 4 emissions. Careful driving and motorway miles means economical on fuel 40 – 50 MPG. Engine is in good shape with regular servicing and full paper trail of work since I purchased the van 4 years ago. For 13 years old, the van body is in generally good condition, there is very faint ghosting where decals have been removed, which is very hard to identify unless you know it’s there and one or two spots on the body that will require a little attention at some point but no concerns for now. She has an MOT to October 31st 2022.
This is a standard Leisuredrive Crusader conversion (2008) that has since been customised to create more space by removing the Rock n Roll bed and replacing with a fixed bed across the rear. Naturally this bed would suit shorter people, however the runners are left in place on the lino for a refit of a Rock n Roll bed, if required. The original Smev sink and hob unit remains with the plumbing for water and gas. The original overhead storage locker has been replaced with a deep open storage space that is adaptable into extra sleeping/storage NB: There are only 2 fitted seatbelts currently. Adding 100W solar and air blown heating in 2019/2020 has been a game changer and we have been off-grid comfortably in the UK, France and Spain. The solar panel was supplied by Photonic Universe and the MPPT controller by Bimble Solar. The extra addition of 12V has given us good connectivity via laptops and the LED spotlights provide 4 extra USB ports. The Carlink installation to the glovebox allows for charging/playing of iPods, charging of phones plus jack and USB ports.
Other recent works include: a new engine battery this year, 4 new all -weather tyres 2020, new Smev tap, plumbing and an additional gas cylinder 2021. The timing belt, tensioner and pump were all replaced when I bought the van in 2018. There are good records of work and servicing for the new owner.
Fixed bed across the width of the van to the rear measuring 160cm x 110cm. The platform is in ply, ventilated and treated with mould resistance and dry-matting. There is a 10cm memory foam mattress, fully upholstered.
There is extra storage available in the Hi-top with room for 1-2 small children NB: there are only 2 fitted seatbelts currently. This platform is formed of boards which are stowed in the over-cab space. The space is 150cm wide and around 160cm long. You’d need a mattress to put up there if required.
