Fiat Ducato 9 Speed Auto Campervan Conversion. Fully Off-Grid and Gas Free

Converted by previous owners for fully off-grid living, with a spacious and airy feel. Since we bought it, we have added a new high quality compost toilet, which eliminates the need to find Elsan points, as the waste can be double bagged and deposited in waste bins, or added to a compost bin. We have also added a new Alpicool 50l compressor fridge.

Vehicle Description Summary.
The Standard Van Spec:
This van comes with the fabulous ZF 9 Speed ultra smooth automatic gearbox and the powerful 160 BHP 2.3 litre engine, which has been upgraded to 190BHP via a Tunit programmable console, which can be easily adjusted for power or fuel efficiency. This makes light work of mountainous roads, and improves economy if you choose not to use the extra power.

The Conversion Info:
The van comes with full all around 82% tint glass, 1st window on both sides has sliding windows fitted, which can be open while driving in hot conditions. All windows are covered by the excellent Van-X double material black out sliding curtains. These help to keep the heat in or out, but also maintain privacy at night time when you’re parked in public areas. No-one knows you’re there! Internal front and side window magnetic black out curtains for when camping. There is also a pair of fixed curtains that can be drawn easily for a quick overnight stop or privacy.

The van is completely covered in DoDo sound proof matting, for both sound and heat insulation and then covered in the 1″ super efficient (and expensive) Thinsulate™ insulation. This is super light weight and is used in industrial areas where weight and efficiency matters, also used in ski clothing.
The exposed areas of the van are carpeted in quality carpet covering and then lined with stunning Red Cedar tongue and groove. This was chosen for its beauty but also its light weight. The cupboards are all hand made from the quality Moorland timber board. Again chosen for their quality, strength and light weight. Set into the bottom of the cupboards, in 5 different, separate zones are the dimmable lighting systems. All operating on low voltage 12v they ad a limitless amount of ambience to the living experience. The majority are of the warm light variety, but for those winter mornings there are bright ‘daylight’ lights, and in the lounge area there are fun remote controlled multi-coloured lights for when you want to party!
The front seats both spin round to create an even more spacious feel when you’re parked up for the night or for when you choose to leave the bed down.

All the controls are where you would expect them to be: Virtually all manufacturers insist on grouping all the controls in one out – of-reach place. So when you want the heating on or off or just to switch on the lights you have to get out of bed. In this van, two of the lights are when you come into the van. The other controls are right beside you in the lounge or bed, along with the heater controls. There are plenty of facilities for charging phones and laptops, both 12v and 240v.

The conversion comprises:
2 living rooms/dining rooms, with beautiful moveable Oak Table and Lagun table mount
Rear U shaped lounge converting to huge 6’2″ x 6′ double bed. The conversion time takes less than 5 minutes from lounge to made up bed. The cushions are an extra deep 6.5”, making for a super comfortable lounge and bed. Custom made topper and fitted sheet included. There is plenty of storage under the lounge seats, and also extra storage under the bed when made up.
Front seating lounge with 2nd Lagun table mount, and storage under the side bench seat. Both front seats are captain seats which can be swivelled 180 degrees.
‘Single Homie’ dual zone induction hob can also be used as one single large hob, set in a beautiful oak worktop. Lift up and down extension to the work top made in Bamboo.
Rectangular stainless steel sink with quality mixer tap.
The seating area converts into a very spacious kingsize bed. Extra deep cushions and hardwearing material.
Small Oak block shelves for ornaments or phone, but included wine glass cut out to minimise spills etc.
Hidden shower room, which houses a composting toilet, purchased in early 2025. The shower/toilet was built hidden to create a really airy feel when in the van. The ‘room’ also houses a pull out hanging wardrobe.
The shower head is a high pressure head with 5 modes and a one-touch stop button to conserve water, and the shower hose which attaches to the sink tap is long enough to enable showering inside or outside. The shower curtain attaches with magnets, and can be used inside as well as outside using the rear doors.

Hot water is supplied via a 10l Propex 240v low power (800w) heater which is powered easily from the electric system and is quick and efficient to heat up.
Rear seating/bed area has a 24″ Samsung smart TV and superb Bose Surround sound speaker bar – this can also swing round to watch from the front captain seats. We use portable data for the smart tv, but it can also be used with a portable tv aerial.
There is a Huawei 4G router which accommodates a sim card for Internet access and tv streaming.
Extensive storage below all seating areas, with hinged access to all areas. Rear garage big enough for 2x folding electric bikes and chairs etc.
13 x wall storage cupboards. There is plenty of storage space.
Multiple storage drawers in the kitchen with a slim line pullout drawer, cutlery draw and other large drawers/cupboards for pots and pans, food etc. There is also a large storage area above the cab, as well as some raised floor storage for shoes etc.
4 section infra red dimmable warm strip lights creates superb mood lighting.
Majority of lighting, heating, fan and usb sockets are positioned by rear seating/bed area.
Premium hard wearing waterproof vinyl flooring.

Autoterm 2kw diesel heater with top of the range controller, which is integrated into the fuel system, so no worries about trying to find gas, and is very efficient and warm. There is a built in timer that can be set to come on at a specific time if you are out on a cold day so you can return to a nice warm van.
40L internal fresh water tank with internal filler.
25L internal grey waste tank
Spice rack set into the sliding door.
New 50l compressor fridge. Very quiet and efficient.
3 separate 240v sockets for use with external power or internal Inverter.
3000w pure sine wave inverter (max surge 6000w). This can power virtually anything you can throw at it.
400ah Lithium batteries (4x 100ah Super hi quality batteries). They maintain in excess of 13v right down to 10% power (only ever happened once but impressive) .Long term electric cooking would not be possible with ordinary lead acid batteries.
ABSO BMT 1250 50A Marine quality Battery to Battery charger and combined 50A MPPT Solar charger.
TBS “Expert-Modular” Top of the Range Battery monitor. Extensive monitoring but mainly used for amps and watts being used and battery charge percentage.

2 × 160w super slim, flexible roof mounted solar panels.
2 x ceiling 12v fans: MaxxFan 40cm remote controlled ceiling fan provides both in and out air with 10 speed setting above cooking and shower area and Fiamma manual 40cm fan directly above the lounge/bedroom.
