Ford Transit MK7 LWB High Top

MOT December 2022
Full service history and drives really nicely.
It has a few small bumps and scratches that come with the age but still looks great.
Having previously been a Scottish Water van, there is a speed cap on it at 60mph, I’ve not had a problem with that and found it a nice pace to drive for a big van but it would be easy to get taken off if you wanted to.
First converted in 2019 and recently refurbished, the van has had some amazing adventures and has been really loved and cared for. Will be so sad to sell but I’m moving away.
Built to be fully off grid, it’s thoroughly insulated with vapour barrier, celotex insulation boards and mineral wool. It can stay cool in the shade in summer, and lovely and cosy in the autumn and winter with the woodburner going. Fiamma fan and vent great to keep air flow, and beautiful hard wearing cork flooring throughout for added insulation.
The van is nice and bright with three windows, each with muslin nets for privacy and custom made curtains. Panelled throughout with dark stained pine slats and birch ply. The setup is basically in two halves with the front of the van set up as a kitchen and the back with sliding sofa bed, clothes storage, and a fold down table and chair.
The kitchen has tons of storage and enough space to cook whatever you want. There are two Foker gas hobs made from cast iron and a propane gas bottle accessible from the sliding door; inset sink with a sliding draining board, hand pump tap connected to two 25l fresh and wastewater bottles, and a new Dometic coolbox which keeps stuff fridge-cold for around four days with an ice pack.
The cabinetry is made mostly with birch ply which is either new or just sanded and re-oiled. There is plenty of space in the cupboard beneath the sink to keep a small cassette toilet if you wanted one.
All electrics have been safety tested by an auto-electrician and are easily accessible beneath the sofa if you should need to. There is a large 200ah AGM leisure battery, connected to the solar panel through an mppt monitor. This comfortably powers a usb charger, two ceiling LED lights and two lamps all of which run at 12v. There is also a 240v inverter connected to plug sockets at the front and back of the van for kitchen appliances, speakers, charging laptops etc. The solar panel is big enough to draw enough energy even on cloudy days.
The sofa/bed is super comfy and upholstered with a brand new foam mattress and removable and washable cushion covers. There’s enough space with the table and chair down for three to hang out easily, four at a squeeze, and storage space above and underneath to keep clothes and bedding. It’s built on pine slats which are super quick to pull out and assemble, and comes out to around 140cm wide. In order to fit around other features the full length of the bed is a slight L shape but sleeps two really comfortably.
This layout means that there is a walkway all through the van which makes it feel airy and spacious compared to other builds, and allows for lots of options of how to use the space throughout the day. There are also some great hidden storage nooks and a lot of attention to detail in the design.
It has been an amazing home to travel around the UK with, and is completely ready to drive off in – with a newly filled cooking gas bottle and chopped firewood. If you have any questions or would like to arrange a viewing, send me a text or WhatsApp message and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can 🙂
