Detailed Information
Vehicle Description

PEGGY FLORA is a Peugeot Boxer, LWB 2H, registration 63, (2013)
She is a diesel manual with 6 gears plus reverse, she is in great condition, MOTs available and phone number of the garage I use and also the email of the converters, Quirky Campers’ recommended converters Rustic Simplicity, (builders of QC owners van) available on request

Peggy is much loved and adored. She was converted, weighed, got her gas certification and was rented on QC site 3 years ago. She has not been rented during Covid so I have not had the gas certificate done this year so I would say she is ‘gas compliant’ and ready to rent with this in place again should you wish.

She has a propex heater, 2 gas hobs, fridge, water, solar panel, USBs front and back, two batteries (both replaced this year), a reversing camera, lights all over the place, 12V shower plug in the back, etc etc but photos will tell her story better than I can describe here. She is decorated with local tweed, the kitchen is made from old whisky barrels and natural oak which smell delicious, and the insides of her cupboards are a riot of colours and painted with love.

She is in Argyll and available to view anytime up to 24 July, and available to go to her new home from 1 August.

Please ring me to arrange a viewing and with any questions you have.

Conversion Description

Peggy Flora started life as a joiners van travelling about the West Coast of Scotland. She wasn’t overly energetic as her owner was nearing retirement, so her mileage reflects the leisurely pace of life they led. Then she came to our family, and along with James and Anita at Rustic Simplicity, over a very cold winter, decisions were taken, changed, altered, added. What fun we had making the worlds most perfect van. We had the bubblegum tweed woven by a friend on the Isle of Harris, we got the third belted seat from an old ambulance, one of my daughters engraved the flowers on the wood and another painted the flowers inside the cupboards. We sewed together the curtain with tartans and tweeds from friends collections as well as charity shops and free samples. (remember we are Scottish !). The optic has full strength water of life in it.
We hummed and hawed about the kitchen which is made from old whisky barrels and locally sourced oak (smells amazing) and eventually after using Peggy for a year we removed the grill, we never used it, and put in a fridge instead of the cool box we originally had. Brilliant decision. We kept two gas rings which are more than enough. The butler type sink is resin so weighs very little.
Peggy has a propex heater which keeps us all toasty in winter and dries off the dogs nicely after a long walk. The dogs have a large, removable cage which is secure for travel.
Peggy has a solar panel on the roof and this keeps the lights twinkling and the USBs charging my daughters laptops and phones and music. It also runs the water pump and the kitchen lights.
There is a removable loo under one of the table seats.
I replaced both batteries this year and have carried out every repair, renewal as suggested on MOTs – I drive children about in Peggy all the time, so safety is top of my list.
Peggy is a haven of peace, somewhere we all sleep our best sleeps. We have all lived in her at various times during the last year, and the dogs know that when they get in that its time to go to the local beach and eat seaweed while I make a cup of tea and stare into the middle distance.
The decision to sell Peggy was a sad one, but new things beckon and so the journey continues.
