This is the very rare EXTRA high roof version, fantastic for tall people (and all people!).

Conversion Description

The conversion:
Beautifully crafted, bespoke, rustic wooden conversion with loads of storage space.
Sofa which pulls out into a FULL length king size bed (5ft x 6ft 3).
Fixed bunk bed (2ft6 x 6ft3) – strong enough to take an adult – with rope ladder.
Kitchen area with lots of worktop space.
Sink with tap (operated by Shurflo pump).
100l underslung water tank.
12v Dometic CRX65 compresser fridge.
Dometic hob & Thetford oven/grill which run off a 25l underslung LPG tank.
LPG nozzles so you can fill up whichever country you are in.
LPG level indicator display so you know when the LPG is running low.
Plenty of LED lights.
Diesel heater.
Full insulation throughout.
1000w inverter (we never used it).
240v socket (for use with electric hook up).
3 USB ports.
Thetford Portipotti 345 & cover (brand new).
Removable table.
2 skylights & mushroom vent.
2 side windows and rear porthole window.
Window shades/covers for night time.
Smoke alarm & carbon monoxide alarm.

In terms of power supply for the electrical items, everything is powered by 2 x 110ah leisure batteries, which are recharged in 3 ways:
– split relay charger so the batteries automatically get charged as you drive
– 200w Solar panel with MTTP charge controller
– Electrical hook up battery charger

We lived in the van for over 2 years, staying off grid and moving around quite a bit, and we found that the solar panel and split relay charger were sufficient to keep the batteries charged.

There are some items that we have purchased new for the sale of the camper:
– 2 brand new 110ah leisure batteries
– New Shurflo water pump
– New Thetford 345 portipotti & cover
– New sofa / bed foam mattresses and sofa cushion covers
– New curtains

We have also refinished the floors and worktops, and repainted throughout, so she really does look like new.

Known issues:
Marks on the bodywork and some paint has come off above the windscreen.
The ignition button on the hob doesn’t work any more so you need to use a lighter.
The king size bed pulls out easily when 2 people do it together but takes a while to pull out if you’re on your own doing it.
MOT advisory – minor oil leak. I asked the garage about this and they said it was so tiny it wasn’t worth fixing.

Extra info on running costs:
When we lived in the van we did all our cooking in the van and we averaged £2 per month on gas. Since we last lived in the van the price of gas has doubled, so you’d be looking at about £4 a month (if you live in it). The van also comes with all the nozzles used in other countries so you can fill up wherever you go. That’s the reason we went for the underslung LPG tank, so we didn’t have to keep getting different gas bottles and regulators for every European country, the LPG works everywhere.
The tax is £265.
As a guide, our insurance this year was £219. The van has been changed to a motor caravan on the V5, so that reduces the insurance price I believe.

Weight:
We took the van to the weighbridge when it was full with diesel and the water tank was full and it had all of our things in it (it was full because we were living in it), as well as the weight of the 3 of us, and it was well under the 3.5t limit, so there is not any problem with weight. You can drive this van on a normal licence no matter when you passed your test.
