Description taken from Quirky for Hire section: everything is included and Rhonda is already online and ready to rent: we have had approximately £10k worth of bookings for each of the last two years since she went up.
Description of Beds: Rhonda has a fixed standard double bed, 135cm wide and 190cm long. An extra bed can be made from the two seats which measures 70cm wide and 175cm long.
Description of Seating: Three belted seats in the front (including driver) with headrests and three point belts. The two passenger seats are suitable for a child seat using the belt (no iso-fix), with no airbags. Includes one child seat for ages 9 months – 12 years.
Description of Electrical Setup: Rhonda has a battery-to-battery charger which will charge the 200Ah leisure battery while driving. There is also a 320W solar panel and Mppt charge controller. There is a 300W inverter and 240v plug socket in the living area for low power appliances i.e. laptop chargers and baby monitors. There are a selection of 12v USB charging points throughout the van, including the bedside lights.
Cooking Equipment: Alongside a baby-Belfast sink and a twin hob, Rhonda has everything you need to cook up a feast, including a full set of high quality pans, steamer, colander, chopping boards, knives and a full set of utensils. There is a full set of enamel plates, bowls and pasta bowls for 4 and a selection of enamel mugs and glasses. There is a cafetiere and tea pot and some essential supplies, including tea, coffee, oil, spreads and seasoning.
Water and Sanitation: Water is provided via a 30 litre removable container under the sink which supplies water via a microswitched pump. The kitchen sink drains directly outside the van but can be diverted into a container (provided) if necessary. There is an outdoor shower which is powered by a USB-rechargeable submersible pump. Water would need to be supplied via the 30 litre tank or elsewhere and heated on the hob if desired. There is a chemical toilet with all necessary cleaning products.
Audio Equipment: Rhonda has DAB radio and bluetooth connectivity in the cab.
Type of Heating: Rhonda has a Propex 2kW LPG heater which is very easy to control and heats the van very quickly. There is an external LPG tank which serves the hobs and heater which you fill at any service station which has LPG/autogas or other gas suppliers. A tank lasts forever.
Fit out: Rhonda is finished in a combination of birch ply and valchromat with reclaimed pitch pine worktop and sliding dining table and tongue and groove panelling freshly painted in Farrow & Ball ‘Strong White’. All doors and drawers have soft close and magnetic catches. The dining table can be used to support a side-cot/moses basket next to the bed, or the extra bed can be made up to have a larger crib.
There is an abundance of storage, including above the cab, under each seat and a vast garage under the bed accessible from the living area which can hold a couple of bikes (wheels off), outdoor gear or surfboards (up yo 6ft in the back, longer poking through the doors to the living area).
Rhonda is well insulated in 25mm celotex on the floor and ceiling and 50-100mm mineral wool in the walls, all behind a vapour barrier.
Fixed full size UK double bed: 1,350mm x 1,900mm memory foam mattress.
Child’s/extra bed made up between the two seats: 700mm x 1,600mm.
