Ford Transit LWB 2014
This van’s engine was completely refurbished at 160,000 miles – I have all the paperwork of work completed on it by the previous owner. In June, it had a new clutch kit, flywheel and slave cylinder. Recently it passed its MOT, on the 17th October. Drives very nicely with 6 gears, smooth to change through. Bodywork is in good condition, little bit of superficial rust but nothing major at all.
Beautiful off-white, green, and wood theme throughout. Double bed at the back with storage shelves and space underneath / space for a large pet bed. Large storage pull out cupboard accessible from the back doors too. Two kitchen hobs (one jet needs cleaning because the flame is yellow) on smart black glass finish. I built a cover for the hob area, so when not in use you have extra wooden worktop space. White ceramic kitchen sink and gorgeous solid wood worktop. Seating area with newly upholstered cream cushions (storage compartments underneath), and cream / hessian curtains. White tiling effect through the kitchen. Pine ceiling with skylight. All cupboard doors fixed with magnets. Drawer above the fridge area too. Detachable table for dining that can be moved and then fixed in place for travel / folded flat and put in the back.
Originally this had a domestic fridge installed but it used too much power, so I swapped it out for a dometic cooler, which is hardwired into the 12v system so runs off 12v and very effective in conserving power.
I also had a new control panel installed with your usb points and switches to turn on/off fridge, water pump for the sink tap, extractor fan, and lights. All run off 12v. Lights also have a remote control and can be bright/dimmed. To run the 240v there is a switch to power on the inverter, and you can use the 4 plug power points, or plug directly into the inverter / extension from the inverter. I ran my Nespresso machine from this and it works perfectly.
There is 100w solar – on a sunny day you get about 16v coming through which is great. You can add more solar fairly inexpensively if you wish to power more – they can be easily installed and slot together. If you have a few cloudy days or you find the solar isn’t giving, you can turn on a switch in the front, and run the engine to charge your 2 leisure batteries. They are new and were installed in July.
This van is definitely worth viewing and I would be happy to show you around 🙂 Thank you!
Small double bed at the back of the van – positioned horizontally across the width of the van, conserving space. I am 5ft 7in and can lie in the bed perfectly, but any taller and you wouldn’t be able to lie straight. To stretch out I lie diagonally, so if you’re a single person looking to take the van and taller than me, you’ll be fine.
