I constructed this van last winter with the intention of keeping it for myself and my partner. Recently, and since finishing the van, my plans have changed and I’ve decided to go into higher education. Sadly I need to sell the van to pay for the course. A difficult decision but will be worthwhile i’m sure!! 🤞

The upshot of this is that I know every inch of this van and exactly how everything is put together. So if you have any questions at all I’ll be able to answer them in great detail! I’ve tried to be thorough in the description below but it might be a bit dry so if you want to just chat it through, give me a ring.

KITCHEN

Compact and well designed, this capable kitchen is laid out to make it easy to prepare a meal for a group of several hungry people and wash up with ease afterwards.

-Designed for tall people, there is 6”6’ of headroom in kitchen and lounge area.
-Tiger stripe Bamboo worktop
-LPG powered Thetford Triplex Spinflo Oven/Hob cooker
-Dometic CRX-50 12V fridge/freezer with ice compartment.
-Large stainless steel sink with hot/cold mixer tap and bamboo cover board
-Cupboard storage under units and above Cab, shelf storage on either side of van.
-Led strip task light on kitchen work surface
-Fold down worktop section to allow door-side seat and extra work surface
-Chopping board storage slots

DINING AND LOUNGE

-Flexible dining and seating space for up to 6 people.
-Bench seats with corduroy covered cushions and under seat storage. Covers are removeable for washing.
-Mobile stool with storage which locates next to the sliding door for an extra dining seat or door seat.
-Fold down bamboo seat for extra seating kitchen space.
-USB chargers with phone shelf
-Warm led dimmable downlight spots
-Cubby holes for storage with lighting built in.
-Recycling area with bin
-Roof-light with blackout and bug screen

SLEEPING AREA

-Slide out king size bed which stows with 1 simple movement to half size above the bench seats. 80mm firm cushion foam.
-Smaller child bed underneath which is made by demounting the tables and placing between the benches.
-Warm led reading lights with USB chargers both sides of main bed
-5 large overhead lockers with artisan sycamore and ash wooden doors.
-Shelves by bed with warm uplighters built in.

GARAGE, REAR STORAGE,SHOWER AREA

-Large storage area with LED work light, 240V power and USB socket.
-Shower mounted to the rear
-70L water tank with level sight
-1200W sub-woofer
-Roof-rack
-Rear ladder for roof access and bike transport
-removeable panel for internal surfboard storage

HEATING/GAS/INSULATION:

-Gas supply is via a 23L underslung LPG tank
-Safety solenoid switch and digital level guage.
-Heating is via a Propex 2kW LPG air heater.
-Hot water is provided by a Propex Malaga 2E LPG/Electric water heater. Running off LPG normally, and when plugged into the shore power running off electric if desired. 13L hot water capacity.
-Gas vents under all gas appliances and fittings. –
3 way manifold to isolate each appliance.
-70L water fresh water tank
-Hot/cold mixer tap in kitchen
-Outdoor mixer shower out the back
-Insulated throughout with Therma fleece Hydrophobic sheeps wool insulation. Sound deadening on panel centres.

ELECTRICS:

A large capacity lithium battery bank is matched with a high capacity solar charging system and energy efficient lighting and appliances giving you total off grid operation freedom.

-3 charging methods, solar, Alternator via DC charger and 240v shore power input.
-1600W Victron inverter/charger,
-2 x 100Ah LiPh4 batteries
-350W REC solar panel
-20A Victron MPPT. When driving, the batteries are also charged by a
-Victron Orion 18A DC/DC charger.
-Victron BMV712 battery monitor,
-Custom 3d printed 12V switch panel.
All the 12V appliances are run via the load control output of the MPPT, this means that everything can be monitored and a safe switch off voltage to prevent over-discharge can be set via Bluetooth.
Visual monitoring is via the BMV12 monitor.

STEREO/SATNAV

The Sony/Alpine 12 speaker sound system sounds very clear and punchy when driving or relaxing in the van, great sound quality and all the features you’d expect from a modern system.
Controlled from the ignition or manually the stereo is powered by the leisure batteries and runs happily on solar power along with all the living amenities via the MPPT with no danger of over-discharge.

The bad bits!
The bodywork is not perfect, there are a few small dings and scratches are still evident from its previous life
The alloy wheels could do with a refurb.
