Citroen Berlingo Multispace XTRHD110
The 1.6L diesel is known for being reliable and good to drive; this has been the case over the time that I have been exploring with Batilda, she is great to drive.
When I acquired Batilda I did a lot of work to make sure she was reliable and passed her MOT including (June 2024 onwards) new front and rear brake discs and pads, new rear brake caliper, new front coil springs, new NS driveshaft, gearbox oil seals and CV gaiters, DPF (filter) removed and cleaned and a new main battery. Later in the year I fitted a new clutch, had the Injectors serviced and, for the last MOT, fitted new lower suspension arms. There is a warning light for the DPF that needs to be reset by a dealer but does not affect the driving in any way.
Receipts from previous owners show the timing belt was replaced in 2022.
The current MOT is valid until July 2026.
The price of £4950 is a reduced price from that previously advertised. This just covers my expenses but I am open to reasonable offers for someone who would like to continue the adventure.
This is a DIY conversion that I completed myself using good quality plywood and a pot of varnish.
The main floor and sides are insulated and boarded. There is a bed built behind the driver’s seat that has space underneath for 3 x 50L storage boxes (included). The storage is easily accessible from the side or rear. On the passenger side is a storage unit including a pull out shelf with wind shield for a gas burner and a second pull out compartment for food storage. Behind the passenger seat is a fold away table. Next to the table are two battery voltage monitors, USB charging sockets and a 230V socket running from a 500W inverter. The van electrics are powered from a leisure battery which is in turn recharged when the engine is running. There is an LED light fitted in the back. Extra storage is available (I used it for my Yoga matt, camping stool and camera gear). Curtain wires are fitted to all windows and there is a set of handmade and very funky curtains.
Added extra’s include:
Camping gas cooker and kitchen equipment (kettle, frying pan etc)
3 x 50L storage boxes and a plastic food box
Haynes manual and tool kit
Extra car tools (jack, pump, warning triangle etc)
Snow chains (I went to the Alps in the winter)
Full set of snow tyres on steel rims with wheel bolts
Level 2 CritAir Certificate (for driving in France)
Registered Vehicle Type is given as MPV on the V5
Single bed, permanently in position (not fold away). Nice mattress but, as I am not particularly tall myself, the mattress is slightly shorter than usual.
