Detailed Information
Vehicle Description

Betty-Boo is a Mk 7, L3 H3 (LWB) Ford Transit. The van has a 6-speed, manual gearbox and the 2.4 litre diesel engine, and while she’s getting on a bit she still pulls like a dream! The van has a partial service history prior to our ownership but is complete for the last four years. Last serviced with the MOT in June 2024.
With all the basics covered, loads of storage, she’s all ready to start your new adventure.

Conversion Description

The van was converted by Vancave Cornwall, located in Liskard. They described it as a “starter” van, created with the basics you need to get you out on the road and starting your van life experience. Since then we’ve added some home comforts, a diesel heater, updated the 12Volt electrics, changed the soft furnishings, and of course added fairy lights to create a relaxing, slightly hippy space in which we can explore the UK. We’ve toned it down a bit for the pictures as it wouldn’t have been to everyone’s taste !

The van has loads of really useful storage areas. There a multiple overhead cabinets, under bench storage, an over-cab cupboard, and a spacious garage area under the bed.

The kitchen cupboard has a pine worktop which is fitted with a 2-ring gas burner and sink with a hand-crafted copper tap. Cold water is supplied by a submergible electric pump from a container in the cupboard, and a similar container is used for grey waste. There is a gas dropout in the floor as the Campingaz cylinder (type 907) for the cooker is also stored here. A small compressor fridge/freezer is located under the sink. The two storge cupboards over the worktop are finished in pallet wood and a touch light mounted underneath illuminates the working area. A lift up table by the door can provide more space while cooking or just somewhere for your drink while relaxing in the rotating passenger seat and enjoying the view through the side door!

Kitchen in detail:
β†’ Vitrifrigo C39 12Volt Compressor Fridge
β†’ Dometic P12212P dual burner hob unit
β†’ Stainless steel sink with cold tap .
β†’ 2 x Touch LED lights in the kitchen area

The bench seat has three contains three separate storage compartments with lift up covers. The right hand section is a simple storage area for blankets etc although we had plans to insulate it further to store bread, fresh vegetables, and the like. The centre section houses a Porta-Poti which we have included in the sale. The left hand section houses all the electrics for the mains hook-up and internal 12Volt system. The consumer unit feed a single mains outlet on the front of the cupboard and a separate outlet powers the charger for the leisure battery when connected to a hook-up point. A solar panel on the roof, believed to be 90Watts, is adequate to charge the leisure battery for occasional/weekend off-grid stop-overs. The cupboard also has a 12Volt accessary socket, a USB outlet, and a battery voltage monitor mounted on the front. The 12Volt socket and mains outlet use a modular connector system so could be configured differently, if required.

There are two storge cupboards mounted over the seat finished in the same pallet wood style as these in the kitchen and bedroom.

This is a perfect first van for someone, as it has been for us. An event shelter can be included in the sale and there are ramps for levelling up. The garage fits 2 bikes and kayaking equipment whilst the roof-rack, roller and ladder make it easy to carry kayaks/surfboards on the roof. We are happy to include cushions, bedding and other home comforts. Betty Boo is ready to drive away for holidays and adventures.

Beds Description

There is a double bed, width wise across the rear of the van. It is a standard Queen width but reduced in length to 5′ 8″. We tend to sleep diagonally so it hasn’t been an issue. The height of the bed is 68cm, which makes it easy to climb into while maintaining a good sized garage below. The bed area is clad in pine but the two overhead lockers and wardrobe at the foot of the bed are finished in pallet wood to produce a cosy hideaway from the main cabin. There is a touch operated light in the centre of the ceiling above the bed. .
It is possible to convert a bench seat to a small single bed but we rarely used it this way.

Main Bed Length
170cm
