Itβs been a really tough decision but I am putting Big Blue up for sale.
She is a converted Mercedes Vario bus, self-build converted by a previous owner. Since I bought her she’s had alot of work done over the winter by specialist bus garage TSO Motors in Sussex. She drives really well now and I have all the invoices to show work done. Would make a great wild home, festival bus, AirBnB… dream
FULL MOT (end April 2026), 148,600 miles, 2000 plate, 4250cc, 7490kg (Granny Licence required!) MOT April 2025.
This truly is a home on wheels, with everything you need to live a comfortable van life. Beautifully handcrafted interiors.
Work done over the winter to get her fully on the road includes: new starter motor, batteries, wheels, headlamps, some tyres etc etc.
She is not currently offgrid but there are working solar panels, a spare 65L water tank and a woodburner (both to be fitted) so this would be possible without too much more input.

Based near Cobham for viewing (7-5pm weekdays only) I am really sad to let her go but the universe had other plans!

Big Blue was converted in 2020 by a previous owner – self build handcrafted interior. The interior needs some updating as she hasn’t been used for a while so there is scope to put your own stamp on her.
She has a wooden clad ceiling and rough edged natural window sills giving a scandi feel. There are roller blinds for privacy and neutral shaker style kitchen units with a Smeg 4 burner calor gas hob and fridge. There is a large chest of drawers and extra cabinet providing ample kitchen storage.
There is more storage beneath the sofa and tons under the hydraulic bed. There is also a beautiful full sized butlers sink with arched tap.
There is space for the log burner (included) to be set on Somerset slate – this is not currently fitted but the set-up is there including the hole in the roof which is currently covered with a removable cover. This would be perfect for heating the entire bus in winter.
There is a full sized Moroccan tiled shower and space for a tucked away chemical toilet should you wish to have one on board. There is also an extractor fan.
Water – this is not off-grid but a water tank is included if you want to fit this and a water hog was used to connect to the mains in a campsite for eg.
The bedroom is at the back of the bus and is a cosy cabin style, in the summer you can throw open the βemergency doorβ for extra ventilation.
There is a compartment for the toilet. There is a woodburner included (which was originally a sauna woodburner so you can boil a kettle on it) but it has not been fitted although the set-up is there. There are solar panels on the roof which have been checked and work but I have never used them so there may be some investigation needed to connect them up to the leisure batteries.
Everything you see is included in the sale. Where sheβs based is an amazing bus conversion business so if you want to do anything yourself Iβd highly recommend them.
Big Blue has a lot of character. She is a 25 year-old bus and she would really suit being parked up as a home, with the occasional trip. She has had a lot of work done to get through the MOT though and drives well just be aware that she is a mini project and needs some TLC. I am selling as I can’t finish her off but she’d make a great little project and without too much she’d be a gem.
There is a separate bedroom at the back of the bus, with a curtain and a fixed double bed. there is also a small bench in the main living area that could be used for a child or further space in the main area to put in a further fold away bed or cot etc
