Ford Transit Custom L1H2 high top, 2.2 TDI, 2014 reg.
A recent “self build” conversion of a very clean and straight compact Ford Transit Custom. It is a 2.2 TDI engine with a 6 speed manual gearbox. The van has been well looked after by one company for most of its 190,000 miles and serviced every 15,000 miles. There is good service history showing a recent cam chain replacement kit and a reconditioned gearbox and new clutch assembly. It drives very smoothly and positively. The bodywork is in good condition with no bumps or visible marks.
The van has been converted based on a 2 berth small caravan layout and is a comfortable day van in this regard. It was designed to carry two mountain bikes inside to maximise security. The double bed is via the placement of a simple base board, stowed in the rear, and re-arranging the seat cushions. Electrics are via a lithium leisure battery charged via 2-120 watt solar panels and electronic controller. There are 4 usb ports and 12 volt sockets in the van and a 240 volt inverter. Heating is provided by a diesel cab heater with an independent fuel tank. There is running water and a 2 burner and grill cooker. Gas is stored in a vented locker at the rear. There is a pop up vent in the ceiling. Construction is plywood with a pvcu cladding roof to minimise weight. Panelling and roof are insulated.
The van can be used with the seating in it’s usual position to sleep one person or the addition of a base board stored in the rear converts it to a 6×4 double, by moving the seat cushions.
