Cracking Camper!! VW T4 with elevating roof

So beautiful, 23-year old Fanny The Vanny (I can only apologise) is regretfully up for sale. I’ve only owned her since last summer but have loved every minute of our time together – she’s just not going to get used enough for me to justify keeping her this year. The previous owner had her for 14 years and lavished her with attention – I have a stack of paperwork. MOT until August 2025 and very few miles covered since the last test.
Engine – this is the stonking 2.5 diesel unit with the upgraded intercooler. I’ve owned many VW campers and this is easily the best engine by a million miles – starts on the button (even in this freezing weather), runs perfectly and has oodles of torque – she sits perfectly happily at 70mph all day long, hills are a doddle and she’s still pretty economical.
Only 4 former keepers and extremely low mileage for an older van too – most seem to have 200k+ on the clock. 5 speed manual gearbox – all working perfectly, no clutch issues either. Lots of service history, receipts and manuals for the appliances. I’ve just spent over £300 getting a diesel leak sorted. Timing belt etc changed 3 times, last occasion September 2022.
Bodywork is generally lovely, but not perfect (I’d be asking £10k if it was!) very minor areas of rust/bubbling as shown in the photos, so could maybe do with a little bit of attention to stop it getting any worse. Elevating roof had new, quality canvas before I bought her – works perfectly and is totally waterproof. She has a very cool removable Momo steering wheel. Please note that there’s storage space with the roof up, but no space for kids to sleep. The kids slept in the awning when we went away.
Interior is also in really nice condition and is really high quality. Rock n’ roll bed was replaced just before I bought her and is like new. 2 seat belts. Lots of storage space. Removable table with folding leg. There’s a decent bluetooth stereo with serious speakers (and an amp in the wardrobe which isn’t currently connected), fridge, gas hob and little oven (rare). Zig unit for all the electrics, leisure battery and electric hook-up. There’s an auxiliary heater under the rear seat – this operates when the engine is running or via the leisure battery . There’s even the original, removable plastic water tank on wheels, which I’ve never seen in a VW van before. Driver and passenger seats are leather sports seats (Audi, I think) and are really comfy.
The big, fat wheels are in amazing condition; quality tyres (plenty of tread) and adjustable Bilstein shocks have been fitted (I don’t know much about this sort of thing).
Also included are a driveaway awning, proper, made-to-measure thermal windscreen/front window covers, hook-up cable, kettle and other bits n’ bobs.
