Vehicle Description

It is with a heavy heart that we have chosen to sell our beloved Estevan! We are only selling as we are moving overseas.

The van is a VW LT35 MWB ’55’ plate.

My partner and I bought the van in Feb 2021 part converted and spent the next three months completing/upgrading the conversion.

We have had the van fully serviced in February 2022, since I added 5k miles onto the clock travelling round Europe, Scotland, the Welsh coast and the South West. It drives well and I have no concerns, the mechanics at the last MOT remarked that the van was in excellent shape.

The MOT is valid until September 2022. At the last MOT I had all 4 tyres replaced (though it only recommended replacing 2 – I figured it made sense to replace all together!), as well as some other recommendations which can be seen on the MOT record.

The van comes with part service history, which I am happy to share with you. Cambelt was replaced at 102k miles.

The bodywork of the van is good, with only minor surface rust in a couple of areas. Otherwise, the bodywork is in great shape and we have kept both exterior and interior neat and tidy. The van has two large tinted windows.

Conversion Description

Kitchen:
We built the kitchen in an L shape to best utilise the space and it contains:
– Gas hob (gas box installed underneath the countertop and contains a campingaz 907 bottle, which typically lasts around 3 months of daily use and can be replaced for Β£30)
– Smad 50L Fridge 12V/240V Fridge (fits plenty of beers!)
– Water system: fiamma 90l fresh water tank and 12l waste tank
– Beautiful farmhouse sink with sleek black tap, fully plumbed
– custom built counter top which has been finished with top quality osmo oil
– ample storage space in the cupboards and drawers

Living Area:
We have built 2 x seats with a floating table. This space is great to have meals, play games or work. The table can be folded down when not in use which is a great way to save space.

The portapotti fits perfectly underneath the nearside chair. We will replace this for you!!

The bed is the equivalent to a large double and is ridiculously comfortable. The mattress is a custom-made foam block, and you can sleep two comfortably. We have boxed both sides of the bed so you can stretch out (up to 5’7 more or less!)

Underneath the bed there is ample storage space which we have never managed to fill. We have the water tank installed in the garage.

There is also a diesel heater in the garage which we have used once; this was installed by the previous owner.

Electrics:
– 12v 110Ah leisure battery system with isolation switch charged by split charge relay
– 1 x 100 watt solar panel plus display and control panel
– 3x spot lights
– 12v water pump
– 1100 watts converter containing 2x USB sockets and 2x 240v sockets

There is space for 2 more 12v appliances on the switch board and I’m happy to help you with how to navigate this if you don’t have the experience!

Other miscellaneous items included:

– Fire alarm
– Carbon monoxide detector (absolutely essential)
– I am happy to include everything which is needed to drive in France, as I still have these!
– Brand new radio in the front
– Wheel lock and steering wheel lock
– Decorative items, if you would like them!

The only quirk with the conversion is that on cloudy/rainy days the solar panel alone does not generate enough power to keep the fridge running. It is not a problem when driving as the power from the leisure battery is ample. This is definitely a lesson learned for us, and this can be fixed by installing an electric hook-up/additional leisure battery. Or getting a smaller fridge! It is a quirk, but didn’t really bother us once we got used to it.

Any questions please get in touch; I am sure we have forgotten something! We’ve loved having this van and it has taken us on so many wonderful adventures. We have travelled all round Western Europe, the NC500 and vast areas of the UK and it has never let us down. The only reason that we are selling is because we are moving overseas, so we hope to pass it on to someone who will get as much use out of it as we have!

We are also open to sensible offers, and are happy to discuss anything with you.
