MOT and service about to be completed (June 2021) before sale. Less that 57,000 miles on the clock. New starter battery purchased and fitted in August 2020. All brake discs replaced in October 2020. We bought Eugene, a well-looked after former council van, and spent two months full-time lovingly and attentively converting him into a campervan. As we intended long-term travel around Europe (before covid prevented this!), we opted for a luxurious finish and prioritised local and environmentally-friendly materials where possible. Having 7 years combined experience as liveaboard narrowboaters, we understand the importance of simple, elegant and modular systems (so fewer things can go wrong!). As a result we opted for rechargeable lighting and cool box over a 12v electrical system, but there is space and scope to install solar panels and leisure batteries easily. Everything has been designed with a future-proof and modular mindset, making maintainance, cleaning and upgrades straightforward. The Citroen Relay conversion is the most popular in Europe due to it being wide enough to have your bed width-ways, maximising layout and space elsewhere.
Fully insulated to a high spec with Dodo sound deadening, rigid insulation boards floor and ceiling, earthwool walls and foil moisture-barrier lining throughout. Detailed photos of conversion available on request.
Plywood and vinyl floor, ply and 4-way stretch carpet walls and premium pine cladded ceiling. All wood treated with 4-coats of exterior-grade paint.
Fitted kitchen with sink and cold water system. 2x 25L fresh water containers stored under bed to maximise kitchen cupboard space. These are plumbed to a foot pump for a simple, water-saving and easy to use system. 25L grey water tank under sink is easily removed and emptied. All doors magnetically held shut.
Huge and practical under-bed storage area accessible from both inside and outside (through rear double doors). Plenty of room for the largest of items like paddlboards, tools, bike pumps… Large internal storage cupboard for clothes, toiletries, games and electrical and fits portable compost or cassette toilet (not included). Additional storage area in headliner.
Double passenger seat fitted with swivel base rotates to create dining and extra seating space in living area. Portable double hob & grill allows indoors and outdoors cooking when the weather’s nice. Comes with two Campingaz 907 bottles so you can always use one and fill one.
Mini Heki Style roof light provides loads of light and ventilation (even when raining) while maintaining a stealthy low profile. Built-in blind and mosquito net. Secure and strong Fiamma double bike rack.
Overall, Eugene is a beautiful yet simple design, blending modern clean lines with cosy touches. He has been designed and impressively converted to a high spec, and lovingly and immaculately maintained. His low miles and modular design make him a possible life-long companion.
