Toyota Alphard 2.4 litre Hybrid Automatic 4×4
Our Toyota Alphard is a 2.4 litre hybrid automatic 4×4 Campervan. The Alphard is a high specification luxury vehicle with automatic gear box, climate control, alloy wheels, remote locking, ABS, electric windows, tinted windows and twin airbags. Alphards are exceptionally easy and smooth to drive and, with a hybrid, economical on fuel. It was imported to this country from Japan with a low mileage in 2021 by Japan Auto Locators (JAL) and we bought it fully serviced it in March 2022. It has covered 52 000 miles (84 000 kilometres). It has since been serviced twice most recently in May 2024. MOT is due in late March 2025. The odometer shows kms but the speedometer is in mph.
The van has a conventional layout with a pop top to enable fully upright standing up when raised. There are two very comfortable seats at the front and a bench seat with two seat belts in the rear. The table attaches to a rail on the kitchen unit and can be removed completely. The back seats can be used to sit round the table and there is space to include one or possibly two fold-up chairs on the other side. We had a new head unit/sound system fitted (purchased new in January 2024) which, as well as the reversing camera and satnav has multiple possibilities for connection with the internet and smart phones for audio and video. The solar panel means that the batteries never go flat and whenever we have taken readings the leisure battery is always near full capacity.

The bed is a rock and roll arrangement with the two back seats forming a 107 cm double bed with memory foam mattress. There is the possibility of a bed for 2 small children in the pop top.
