Fully Refurbished Talbot Express 2L Petrol & LPG conversion

Conversion Description
This very unique camper is a 1992 Talbot Express 2L petrol and LPG conversion with only 60,500 miles on. It has four belted seats and four berths. We have just finished a complete refurbishment inside and out. The outside has had a brand new highly durable Raptor paint spray job as well as all waterproof mastics re-done on the aluminium trim. The inside has been completely refurbished with new Birch plywood fronts, solid Oak worktops and table, vinyl flooring, reupholstered cushions and much more. The electrics have been upgraded and the van now has 200 watts of Renogy solar on the roof as well as new leisure batteries and more. The mechanics of the van have been upgraded, the gearbox has been reconditioned and is as brand new. A new clutch has also been installed as well as other components. As you can see this refurbishment is comprehensive and you could have a unique and classic campervan, ready for adventure.

Interior:
The layout of the interior is the same as the original van. All the walls and cupboards have been painted white with a highly durable paint, all the doors have been re-made using Birch veneered ply and had two coats of satin Osmo oil. The folding sink worktop, the smaller worktop beside it and the large table are all solid Oak and again have had two coats of Osmo oil as well as a deep penetrating water resistant oil. There is a full length mirror on the back of the bathroom door. The front passenger seat is on a swivel and can be rotated to face the table area, there’s is also a decent amount of storage under both the two front seats and also the sofa seats in the back of the van. Thera are fire retardant curtains that surround the cab area and blinds with bug screens on each window.

Upholstery:
All the cushion covers and curtains are made from fire retardant heavy wearing fabric, the cushion covers all have zips so they are removable and can be easily washed.

Electrics:
The electrics have been completely upgraded. The camper now has 2x 100AH deep cycle AGM batteries which are being charged by the 200W Renogy solar panel on the roof. There is also an Victron 15AH AC-DC charger so that you can charge up using mains power at a campsite or at home. There’s a Renogy battery monitor to monitor your battery percentage, power being used, current run time and more. The van also has a 2000W inverter wired to standard UK mains sockets around the van. 12V USB ports have been installed by the small worktop and the bunk bed. There are touch dimmable LED down lights in the ceiling of the van and LED strip lights that run along above the seats and above the kitchen – these are all very efficient lights.

Plumbing & Loo:
The van has a large 100L fresh water tank stored under the seats which is plumbed to the tap in the bathroom and kitchen. There is a second drinking water tap in the kitchen worktop connected to a separate 10L jerry can located in the cupboard beside the door. Both sink drains run to the 75L undermount grey water tank which is plumbed to a draining tap on the side of the van. There is a cassette toilet with a flush. It’s amazing.

Mechanics:
The engine has a LPG conversion so it can run on either petrol or propane gas. It has a reconditioned gearbox with one year warranty and a brand new clutch. The van has only done 60k miles and has a 12 month MOT. Any inspection is welcome. The rear has air suspension and can be adjusted to be be more firm if needed.

Paint Job:
The van has been completely stripped down and resprayed using Raptor spray paint. Raptor is extremely durable U.V resistant waterproof paint. All the mastic on the van has been redone as well as all the plastic seals that sit inside the aluminium profiles. In short, the van has been completely re waterproofed.

Exterior:
The bike rack on the back holds three bikes. There is an awning mounted to the side of the van which is easy and quick to deploy and provides a good amount of sun shade or rain cover. The ladder on the back of the van can be used to access the roof. There is 1 200w panel on the roof and plenty more for another if needed, there are also 4 mounting points ready for a roof rack to be installed.

Appliances & Gas:
Gas oven with grill and thee burner hob.
Three way fridge with small freezer (Gas, 12v electric or 230v mains).
Gas heater with a 15kg and accessible through a door on the outside of the van.
