Citroen Relay 2014 L1H1 – Bespoke and off-grid
It’s finally time for the next build! I’m sad to be listing my beautiful camper, but like most van converters, we love the build. This van was purchased in Jan 2021 and is now a fully off-grid, compact, stealth camper. It has been ideal for solo adventures, and it has taken me all over the UK. The van has been hand crafted with Ply wood and Ash. It has been insulated with thermal and acoustic insulation. Lots of storage for those longer trips. Since owning the van I have done some work on the engine, including the glow plugs. I have a fantastic mechanic who has looked after the van.
Van chassis:
– Euro 5, 2.2 litre engine
– Low mileage, under 90,000
– 6-gear manual gear box
– Service history from 2021
– 2 owners
– Reverse parking sensor
– USB connection
– MOT due 1st August (can discuss selling with a new MOT, depending on when it’s sold).
– Side and backdoor double locks
Conversion:
– Bespoke conversion by me and a professional joiner and electrician
– 2 x skylights with fly screen and blackout blinds
– The tallest part in the van is when standing inside the skylight: 177cm, floor to roof: 162cm
– Wall units above the kitchen and bed
– Double ring gas hob (Thetford)
– Sink with bespoke Ash chopping board
– Cold running water with 2 x Jerry cans and a Whale pump
– Vitrifrigo fridge with freezer compartment, with an isolation switch to switch it off
– Pull out box seating with the toilet inside
– Bed with foam mattress (hard foam and memory foam), Length: 180cm, Width: 117cm
– Double front seat has a swivel plate fitted, but I have not used it since it was fitted; therefore, I haven’t shown any images of it swivelled
– Blackout blinds for the windscreen, driver’s and passenger’s windows (I forgot to take photos)
– Lighting – spotlights throughout and LED strip lighting under the wall cabinets
– Solar panel – slimline, 115 watts, mounted on the roof between the roof lights
– Leisure battery and electrics stored safely in the garage
– 12V & USB charging options
Bed length is 180cm, width 117cm – It’s really comfortable for one, but I have slept two
