Godfrey is a fully off grid camper designed for couples featuring full electrics, heating, hot water, indoor and outdoor shower, toilet, fresh and waste water tanks. The furniture has been crafted from a mixture of local silver birch and plywood with the walls and ceiling finished with spruce cladding. Screw holes have been hidden and the furniture and ceiling has been finished in clear wood wax. The walls have been painted and could be easily painted over if the blue was not your taste. There is a comfortable u shaped lounge that converts into a large double bed with plenty of storage space underneath.

Godfrey is gas free and is equipped with a diesel hob and heater which is supplied from the engine fuel tank. So long as you have fuel in the van then you can cook and have heating, no need to worry about running out of gas or changing gas bottles which is great for European travel. Godfrey is equipped with high spec electrics which will all work without being plugged in at a campsite making this fully off grid. There is plenty of ventilation with floor and roof vents including mini fans to keep equipment cool and airflowing in the van.

Kitchen

The kitchen is made from solid birch and has a double hob, large sink and drainer, 65 litre fridge freezer, built in bin, large food cupboard and a overhead cupboard for crockery and food. There are 2 drawers, one with a cutlery tray and hidden area for kitchen utensils and the other deep drawer is for pots and pans. There is plenty of worktop space for food prep and two mains electric sockets perfect for kettles, toasters, air fryers etc. There is also a spice rack and tea/coffee/sugar rack.

The diesel hob has a ceramic surface similar to an induction hob and is started at a press of a button. The hob takes a few minutes to warm up before its ready to cook and is surprisingly easy and efficient to cook with. When the lid is shut the cooker becomes a heater and blows hot air into the van controlled by a dial. The inverter will cope with a small air fryer when off grid which provides 2 forms of cooking at the same time. Hot drinks are best made with an electric kettle rather than the hob. There are 2 usb sockets in the kitchen to charge devices and there are ceiling led lights.

There is a maxxair fan with remote control, above the kitchen to extract air when cooking and there is a sliding opening window by the worktop. The fan can be programmed to maintain a temperature in the van and will come on an off automatically. It can be used when its raining and you will not get wet! There is a cupboard under the sink for cleaning products and a small shoe cupboard on the floor underneath the cooker. There is a large storage area above the drivers cab which is large enough to store all the bedding. A carbon monoxide alarm is in installed along with a smoke alarm, fire extinguisher and fire blanket.

Lounge/Bed area

The u shaped sofa can comfortably sit 4 people socially and has a swivel table that can be moved to your favoured position. This table can also be useful for an additional food prep area. The table is then used as an insert for the bed which can be made up in less than a minute. There is a door under the sofa that gains access to the main boot area. On the drivers side of the lounge the cushions can be lifted off to gain access to storage space underneath which is ideal for levelling ramps, table and chairs. The mains electric RCD is located in this section. There are 4 overhead cupboards above the sofa bed which are ideal for clothing. There are 2 usb charging points next to the bed area with a shelf to place phones when charging. There is also a reading light in the small window. There are curtains for privacy and also insulated black out inserts for all the windows to keep the heat out or in depending on the season!

Shower, toilet and fresh water.

The sofa bed has a hidden toilet and shower underneath the seat next to the sliding door. The toilet is a Thetford porta potti which has only been used a handful of times and is in brand new clean condition. This can be used without having to move it and is simply accessed by lifting up the cushion. To use the indoor shower the toilet would need to lifted out and put to one side. There is a shower tray underneath the toilet with a waste drain that goes to a 50 litre waste tank under the van. A shower curtain which is has only been used a couple of times is then hung above the shower box which creates a pop up shower in less than 5 minutes.

The shower hose then plugs into the bullfinch socket and provides you with a hand held shower. This shower can also be used outside by standing next to the sliding door which is great for cleaning dogs or muddy boots. The 60 litre fresh water tank is located under the sofa next to the toilet which means it is protected from cold weather. The 10 litre water heater is located under the kitchen worktop and can be left on the 12 volt supply. This means that the water will be kept constantly hot. The water can also be heated quickly using 240 volt electricity either by the inverter or mains hook up giving great flexibility. There is enough hot water for 2 basic showers.

Being an ex hire van there is a comprehensive instruction manual that we have produced that explains how everything works, and there is also a how to video on you tube. There is an awning available to slide onto the side of the van. We have not registered it as a motorcaravan with the DVLA as because it needs some decals/stickers to become compliant. As these are very personal we have left it a blank canvas for the new owner to customise and register with DVLA as they see fit.
