Hiro is a stylish diesel 2.0 litre van with 5 manual gears, parking sensors, bluetooth phone connection, cruise control, upgraded alarm system and GPS tracker, cab air-con system, front fog lights and heated rear view mirrors. The van is super easy to drive and in good condition. Hiro’s last full service was on 18 November 2020 when new rear tyres, brake pads & brake disks were fitted and a wheel realignment done. We are only the second owners and have the full vehicle and service history. Hiro’s MOT is valid until November 2021 and we’ve not encountered any issues mechanically during the time we’ve owned him. With an easy to use pop-top roof, Hiro instantly becomes a spacious living space during the day, but remains easy to drive and park up. The kitchen is the ultimate in al fresco dining with its pull-out hob, and with solar panels, you’re fully set for wild camping and off grid living. You will find plenty of storage space in the cupboards and under the seats, as well as a clever pull-down table that maximises the space you have inside. Hiro is very simple to manage so there is not much that can go wrong!
Hiro features pine wood cladding, furniture made from lightweight poplar plywood and painted with Farrow & Ball paint, counter tops made from plywood covered in heat resistant DC fix, a pop-up roof by Skyline roofs which also serves as a sleeping space for two (with transferable warranty), an 110Ah leisure battery with 12v fusebox, 150W semi-flex solar charging system with Victron Energy MPPT solar charge controller with Bluetooth app, split charge system, 6 x USB sockets and 1 x 12v cigarette socket in the rear, 4 x LED spotlights (and fairy lights for extra ambience!), a Planar 2Kw diesel heating system controlled by thermostat, sink and tap with immersion pump system with 2 x 12 litre water tanks under the sink, portable camping gas stove, Coleman Coolbox (or optional Waeco 12v fridge) with top access and loads of storage space.
The van has been very popular since being available to hire through Quirky Campers and you’ll have everything you need to continue the rental if you wish. It’s conversion pictures previously gained over 26,000 likes on the ‘project.vanlife’ Instagram page and Quirky themselves included Hiro in their top 10 favourite campers of the last 10 years. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed our trips away in Hiro and are only selling as we’ve commissioned the conversion of another van.
The living area converts to a short bed and the pop top roof is also a sleeping area for two adults.
