Ford Transit MK7
Humphrey is a beautifully converted Ford Transit. With a diesel 2.4l engine in good condition, Humphrey is a comfortable van to drive. The conversion has everything you might need: the pull-out sofabed will allow you to have plenty of space in the van during the day, and enjoy its coziness, but at night will give you a great room to sleep in; the fully equipped cooking area, with 2 hobs and plenty of storage and a fridge, will trigger the van-chef in you; the secluded toilet area with a chemical toilet, and plenty of storage around the van.
Humphrey also has great outdoor accessories, such as a camping table and chairs, an inflatable sofa, and an outdoor solar shower.
The van comes with 2 leisure batteries powered by solar panels, 40L fresh water tanks, and a heater to get cozy on a cold night.
The bodywork is ok, with no major dents or issues. All-season tires were added in the summer of 2021. The van has recently passed its MOT valid until October 2023, with some advisories being sorted.
Selling because I am moving out of the UK, otherwise, I will keep Humphrey forever 🙂
I am currently traveling around Scotland, being back in London on the 3rd or May, so we can arrange some viewings if needed.
A beautiful conversion with natural pine clad walls and ceilings and solid oak work tops and shelving. The walls and the majority of the interior is coated and protected with natural tung oil which is mould and mildew resistant and has no harmful volatile organic compounds unlike other oils or synthetic finish products. The kitchen unit complete with an integrated wine rack is of a country style to complement the natural rural feel of the whole conversion, there is no melamine, laminates, chipboard or plastics to be found here. The conversion layout is not particularly conventional for camper van conversions but we chose this layout to be a bit different giving a roomier feel and it allows for entry and exit through the back doors plus a separate private toilet area to the rear.
There is plenty of overhead storage, storage under the sofa for bedding and cushions and a cabinet for hanging weekend clothing garments with two clothes shelves above. On entry to the camper there is wipeable enclosed space for hiking boots or outdoor shoes. Also on the rear exterior of the camper van there are two lockable aluminium storage boxes perfect for camping gear, boots, wetsuits, logs or other outdoor gear.
The camper has a two burner gas hob on top the kitchen unit with integrated sink with lids that close on top which when closed provide additional work space for food prep and also act as a splash-back when open protecting the wooden walls negating the need for tiling in the kitchen area. The gas hob is serviced by a gaslow 2.5kg externally refillable gas bottle and comes with all the necessary attachments for use in Europe. The gas system has been signed off as safe by a gas engineer. The compact kitchen unit has been well designed with a large storage area for pots and pans, storage for food items, a service door for the gas hob, a drawer for waste, a drawer for cutlery, integrated wine rack, and storage for two 20 litre fresh water containers which feed the tap as well as two 23 litre waste water containers. The fridge is located on the opposite side to the kitchen unit in an enclosed unit which has been designed to be able to be sat upon if needed. The fridge is a small efficient Vitrifrigo compressor fridge with a freezer compartment.
There is plenty of lighting in the vehicle with 5 led spotlights, a reading light over the lounge area and dim-able mood lighting perfect for winding down in the evening.
For climate control the camper has been insulated with mould resistant recycled plastic insulation keeping the van snug in winter and cool in summer. For extra warmth in cooler times a super efficient diesel heater will quickly heat the interior space to a comfortable level. An openable side window and ceiling vent, which doubles as a cooking extraction fan, provide excellent ventilation and airflow in summer months.
The camper van electrics are powered by two sealed standard lead acid leisure batteries bought in 2020 which feed the 2000 watt inverter, lights and fridge as well as other things. Both batteries are maintained by a 300watt solar panel on the roof and a Votronic b2b charger ( a better more efficient and modern form of a split charge relay) which works off the vans alternator when the vehicle is running, both systems will ensure your batteries and electrics never run out of juice.
Any questions regarding the camper van please do not hesitate to ask. Selling it because of moving out of the UK.
The bed is a comfy robust double bed made of pulling out the sofa. It measures 1.83m by 1.20m
