Here is your chance to buy a one of a kind Family Campervan 🤩
The van started out as a custom built vehicle, for Initial Washroom Solutions 🙂
This meant it was coach built with walk-through access from the cab to the rear, side entrance door with steps and double rear doors again with steps.
When they decided to upgrade their fleet, it was sold to Pinewood Studios and used to carry props between the film sets 😁
Then it was our turn to own the vehicle 😃
I drove to Oxford in 2018, bought her and brought her home to Cornwall.
As a family we have used it every year since for weekend trips and our main summer holidays 😎
My wife and children have affectionately named her ‘Mobi’ as in Mobi Dick the white whale.
We have owned the van for nearly 8 years and in that time have used it to go camping on The Lizard, 4 times to the Black Forest in Germany, once around Scotland and twice to the Mediterranean, staying at Palamos in Spain 🇪🇸😎
Every year we have added touches to it to make it a real home from home 🙂
Before setting off this year, I added air conditioning, as we knew how hot it would be on the campsite 😅
So, this van is unique to every other coach built motorhome, in as much as we have our own bedroom and the children have their own private spaces!
The layout is as follows… standup in the cab and you can make your way through to the first compartment. Here you’ll find a row of 3 Ford transit minibus seats, which with a custom built platform, becomes a 3ft wide single bed (our now 17 year old daughter’s bed). Directly above is another custom made 3ft wide platform which is our 13 year old sons bed 😁
When we bought the van, our children were 10 & 6 years old!!! 😆
They each have their own 12v usb charging sockets, twin 240v mains sockets and switched 12v lighting, as well as a communal 240v light and own cubbyholes/shelves. Under the seats are two 110amp leisure batteries.
There is then a door through to the ‘parents’ bedroom, where you’ll find a full size double bed, hob, sink, 3 way fridge, porta loo, multiple storage compartments, a/c unit, two usb charging sockets, multiple main sockets, large food cupboards, lots of shelves and storage etc.
There’s even a grill and cutlery drawer 😆
As I mentioned earlier, we have had 7 years to make alterations and improvements 🙂
The van is fully insulated, newly carpeted last year, along with new curtains throughout.
Access is through the front doors, a side door and two large back doors that frame whatever view is behind you when sat in your double bed ⛰️
When the back doors are closed, there is a table that attaches on to foldable hinges, allowing you to eat inside or play games.
On the back doors of the van, there are Fiamma bike frame mounts attached.. we plan on keeping the rack for our next project.
That leads us on nicely as to Why are we selling?! 😁
Well.. our children are out growing their bed compartments and… want to start bringing friends along 😆
I could rip everything out and start again with a new layout, however, it’s worked so well for us as a family of four, that we’d like the next owners to be able to use her as is, all ready to go! 🙂
The double bed is permanently made up and the minibus seats bed quickly transformed back into a seating area, so would suit a couple too 🙂
We are based down in Cornwall, near the Devon Border.
Were minutes from Gunnislake train station or Callington Bus Station.
It’s difficult to know how to price this unique vehicle… I know how much it cost me to buy the van and how much I’ve spent on its conversion. I can only compare it to a 4 Berth Motorhome and reduce the price as it’s a home build.
Sensible offers from serious buyers will of course be considered (not necessarily accepted.. so don’t delay making the van yours should you really want it 😊)
The van is mot’d till 27th of March 26.. there’s still plenty of time for another trip to the Med This year 😁😎
Questions that may crop up..
No I have not fitted solar panels. On occasion where we wild camped, the two leisure batteries were plenty and the fridge runs on gas when parked up.
We tend to spend 2 nights wild camping, then one night on a campsite for showers, loos, mains hookup etc.
The van has a battery to battery split charger, to charge the leisure batteries when driving 🙂
When on site there is a Zig unit fitted which charges the batteries too.
I have it insured as a campervan, with Adrian Flux insurers, fully comp, with legal aid and additional driving other cars cover, also with my wife as a named driver for the small sum of £274 😃
We look forward to hearing from you!
Any questions, please feel free to ask.
