VW T5 2.5 TDi
Converted by Leon of North Wales Campervans in Feb 2013. (And it is still as good as new)
2008 long wheelbase with barn doors. Obviously it has a pop up roof, not so obviously it has a bed and light upstairs, some don’t. Winter cover for popup roof. (Fits around the canvas bit)
Fiamma wind out awning – essential for South of France AND UK rain.
Quechua popup tent, great as an awning in bad weather.
It’s got a tow bar and a Thule box/bag/bike rack which fits on the tow bar. It’s massive.
Mileage is 140,000 miles and we have done 40,000 in 8 years. It is 6 gear 2.5 litre TDi engine. Cam chain not belt.
2 camping gaz bottles. 3 seatbelts in the back. Rock and roll bed.
Both front seats turn around and the tinted windows really do keep the heat out in the blazing Provencal heat.
Eberspacher diesel heater. Brilliant for going away in winter, uses very little diesel from the fuel tank. We left it on for 3 days up in Scotland one weekend and used about a litre of fuel. Cost us £1,500 new.
Sterling B2B (Battery to battery) charger (Most vans have a split charger, about £20, B2B costs £180. The B2B charger prolongs your leisure battery life and charges it much quicker.
320W solar panel on popup roof and victron MPPT solar charger. (Since we got solar we have not needed a hookup and still have had ice in our fridge for our G&Ts ALL the time. Enables us to be completely off grid with ice)
Brand new Waeco fridge, £450. Same as our old one which died after 6 years of brilliant service. Makes ice, and holds loads of beer. Defo top of the range.
Fitted door panel with shelving.
Dimmer for the main lights.
Also there are some cheap remote control disco LEDs.
Radio/CD player with hands free funtionality.
Full service history.
11 month MOT.
Some scratches on paintwork but by far one of the best, practical conversions I have seen.
double Rock and roll bed and double bed in pop up roof.
