For sale is a 2.4l rear wheel drive 2004 MK6 ford transit conversion with 12 months MOT- Passed December 16th 2024. Selling as doing new conversion 🙂 Open to offers, after a quick sale and priced accordingly.

The van has been well looked after, with regular servicing and work done as needed as long as I’ve owned it (5 years now)- I haven’t been the best at keeping track of invoices etc, but have a partial service history from this time and can probably dig more out of emails.

It has its age-related quirks which I’ll cover below. But it drives well, it’s done several long European tours with us and given no issues on the road and it passed it’s MOT only this month.

The van:
New battery and new ABS pump fitted last year
Work also done on the brakes and shocks last year
Regular oil / filter changes

The quirks:
It’s an old van, so it has its quirks! It drives well, and none of the below will stop you using the camper, but are things to be aware of.

There is an intermittent electrical fault with the dashboard. The rev counter, speedometer and mileometer will occasionally not work (intermittently). This is not an MOT issue and I just use my phone for speedometer. However the mileometer issue has developed in the last few years and I would estimate perhaps 5k miles have not counted onto the mileometer (some may see this as a bonus I suppose…). Just for full disclosure. So mileage is somewhere between 94-100k.
I re-soldered the dash and it did help- someone who’s better at it than me will likely fix the issue, and you can also send it off to be repaired for a few hundred quid. I’ve just not bothered, phone seves me well enough!

There is an oil leak in the engine bay. This has been persistent over my time owning the van. It isn’t big, however it is there. Again, someone with more knowledge than me would likely be able to sort, but it hasn’t impacted the running of the van and it’s had regular oil changes, and filter changes too.

Rust: there is surface rust present on the vehicle as well as more penetrating rust on the cills. This was picked up at MOT as an advisory, but not a fail. It isn’t hard for a welder to sort, and is par for the course on transits of this age. The garage estimated a couple of hundred pounds to a welder to sort.

Happy to answer any questions, share videos etc.

For the climbers out there, the space behind the bed, accessible from the rear doors, is made to fit two bouldering pads, and there is a mini fingerboard over the sliding door too.

It’s a good conversion, lots of space, lots of storage and good to go. Also lots of scope for upgrades and tweaks to suit your needs/preferences better.
