Time to sell my fabulous 1999 two tone silver Benji Bongo AFT with side conversion. I’m going down to one vehicle and am now based in Bradford meaning I will need to pay the CAZ charge daily, hence the sale.
I’ve owned Benji since May 2022 and have only travelled 7,000 miles in that time. It was imported by the previous owner in October 2018 and the professional side conversion completed in 2019. It was waxoiled by the previous owner in 2019 and I had it undersealed by Bongo Spares (who have looked after Benji during my ownership) in 2022 when I bought it. They commented at the time that the underneath was in fabulous condition. I’ve had no breakdowns or problems with Benji during my ownership, only lots of fun! It’s been well maintained and serviced by me and previous owners (lots of service info from Japan too).
MOT 21.03.26. All advisories carried out at last MOT (see photo). Bongo Spares Gold service (full) carried out in March 2025, Bronze service carried out in 2024, Gold service carried out in 2023. Also serviced every year by previous owner. Timing belt changed in 2022 (7,000 miles ago). New starter battery 2024, new leisure battery January 2025. Habitation check completed January 2025 and gas pipes changed. New mid and back box exhaust in 2022.
Bad bits have been reflected in the price (see photos):
– Drivers mirror was clipped and repaired but could do with being done properly. Doesn’t impact fold in mirrors
– Rust started appearing approx 9 months ago on both rear arches. Bongo Spares checked over in March and said it’s surface rust
– Dent in tailgate/rear side where a van clipped it
– Lacquer peeling on bonnet
