Mazda Bongo 2.5D 4X4 Pop Top
I’m selling my lovely Bongo which has done brilliantly on lots of adventures over the past four years, summer and winter!
I have taken great care of it, with yearly servicing and a number of upgrades and improvements.
It is a handmade conversion, in a lovely quirky style, a very cosy, fuzzy, hippy-style interior with lots of nice little touches.
Pioneer Android head unit – sat nav, DAB, audio, video etc.
Elpey twin burner stove and grill, with Camping Gaz cylinder
Diesel heater with wall mounted control
Pop Top roof with space for two to sleep, or simply lots of head height and storage
Slide out wooden bedframe construction – can be a small single bed, as pictured, or can change between being a little sofa and a bed with a series of foam sections (also included)

The van itself has been kept in excellent condition, with a full service each year and regular maintenance including:

The underbody is in excellent condition, and has been protected with Dynax-UB anti-corrosion treatment.
The arches show spots of surface rust, which will be treated prior to sale. The arches and sills are in good condition, as they have been treated with Dynax-S50 which goes inside the cavities of the vehicle, protecting them from rusting from the inside out – a common problem on Bongos.
This is a really fun van to drive, has served me well for the past four years – I just need something a little bigger to go away with wife and two dogs now!
It would be ideal for one or two people, especially if you are into the outdoors – great for getting where lots of bigger campers can’t, and the 4×4 kicks in when you need it to get out of a muddy campsite!
Will come with lots of accessories to get you started, including electric hook-up cables, water bottles, washing up kit etc.

The conversion was made by a carpenter, and as you can see from the photos, he has created a characterful and warm environment that works really well.
Will come with a fantastic retro awning, as well as the roll-out Fiamma awning attached to the vehicle – check the images to see its 1970s glory!
Setup 1: Small single mattress downstairs for one person. One or two can sleep upstairs.
Setup 2: Foam units that make a small double down stairs, for two smaller adults to sleep in, and one or two upstairs. Bed folds into a sofa in the day.
