Conversion Description

Thanks so much for stopping by to look at our van. We’re so pleased you did.
We’re Helen and Denzil, and we went a little crazy (like most of the UK) and completed our van conversion last year.
We then decided to take our van and our two small boys for a journey around Europe in it.
After spending quite a lot of time in it, with our little family, we can definitely say it’s a joy to be in.
We are now selling our van, refurbished, for you, so you can adventure & we can design another- yep, we’re probably actually definitely a little.. crazy! But now a bit besotted with vans..

So our van- it’s spacious, lovely, functional and environmentally friendly.
We’ve used environmentally friendly natural pure linen in our curtains, cushions and upholstery for our fitted bench seating/ lounge area and our fixed rear bed.
Reclaimed oak has been used for bespoke oak detailing on the kitchen cabinetry, and removable oak dining table.

Our kitchen (which does, actually, have decent bench space!) is serviced by a cold water tap, and supplied by a 52 litre fresh water tank and 2 x 12 litre grey removable water containers (handy when a aire or similar cannot be found!)
We’ve added in a little edged oak shelf in above the kitchen to free up even more precious bench space… I know!

A 2 burner LPG gas cooker is supplied by a 6 kg calor gas bottle contained within a gas safe box in the rear storage compartment of the van.

The kitchen also contains a Webasto cruise classic compressor cabinet fridge freezer 49 L – an absolute saviour!

The lounge area in the front of the van also converts to a dining area with a removable oak table which can be stored behind the drivers seat.

A thetford porta potty (this is obviously new- & not refurbished!) has been discreetly concealed within a cupboard within the fitted cabinetry in the middle of the van.

For those interested in the electrics- A 1600 watt pure sinewave inverter, has been fitted with 2 x 120 amp hour leisure batteries with a relay system.
A 240 V electrical hook up is also provided with connection to an interior double socket.

A Erberspacher D2 diesel heater has been fitted with exhaust silencer- (we’ve tested this out in the snow & awoke with no frost on our eyebrows).

The van has also been insulated with 50mm eco friendly rock wool insulation with thermal barrier in the walls and ceiling. The ceiling also has extra insulation along the ribs as we noticed these were prone to condensation.
Underneath the floor dodo matting has been installed to act as a sound and insulation barrier.

The interior of our van- (& in the refurbished van, the kitchen cabinetry) has been painted in Farrow and Ball, Dropcloth – after spending time in other campervans we wanted to ensure we used quality and natural materials in our conversion to make the space beautiful to be in.

Please do note: that some of the photos are of the kitchen unpainted, but we’ve included updated photos of the painted kitchen (and will be for sale with freshly painted kitchen cabinets)

Four LED lights are located on the ceiling of the van with dimmer switch, so late night card playing is possible & there is also a Fiamma roof light and vent (with mosquito net cover- also a saviour!)
We’ve used reclaimed timber flooring throughout the van.
Two reading lights (one on either side) have been fitted adjacent to the rear bed.

Storage is provided under the bed at the rear of the van and storage space has been provided internally with edged shelving above the front driver and passenger seats & there storage area under the fitted bench seating (which is handy for that holiday goods stash that you never usually have space for- or for all the things you’ve overpacked!) Ample storage for a family of four!
The lounge area seating converts into a small child’s bed (or possibly for a very lucky pooch!) with the addition of a handmade bed frame and mattress.

Thanks again for stopping by to look at our van.
We have it up for expressions of interest- as it will be available after the 23rd of February- so you can be prepared for that first wonderful ray of post english winter sunshine!
Please do get in touch – even if you don’t want to buy our van, we’d love to just chat anything van or travel with you.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Our warmest wishes.
Helen and Denzil.
