Mercedes Sprinter 314 premium edition LWB
Newly converted Mercedes sprinter LWB by Maverick Overland. High spec and fully off grid capable. Including the rare optional extra of air conditioning.
This build has been designed to give maximum space in the living area with the backrest of the seating area folding up to extend the bed to a full length, whilst not compromising on space for bikes underneath.
The walls of the camper van have been upholstered with a durable heavy weave fabric. The beautiful leading lines of the strip wood ceiling have been a vision from conception, and is a focal point of the build.
The kitchen is finished with a bamboo worktop, a two-burner gas hob fed from an external LPG tank, hot and cold water sink and 50l 12v fridge freezer. All drawers are fitted with self-locking slam latches on high quality Blum under mount drawer slides.
To the right of the kitchen is the control centre which displays battery information, water heater controls, air heater control and isolation switches for the water pump and gas supply. The controls continue on the side of the kitchen cabinet for the inverter switch, light switches which control the ceiling lights which have been split into two zones; bed and living area, kitchen counter lights and ambient floor lighting, as well as a 240 plug and 12v outlet.
At floor level there is an Eberspaecher d2s diesel heater for those colder nights along with two more drawers and further storage under the rear of the benches. At the end of the bench is the portaloo. There is also a Lagun table mount with a bamboo top, which stows to the left of the kitchen.
The spacious bed is just shy of a super king, spanning the full width of the van. The end section folds down to give more room to the seating area below, but when folded up it locks into place and forms a full sized 2m long bed. Above the bed is a skylight, that when used with the Maxxair fan draws a breeze over the bed.
At the rear of the camper van is an outdoor shower and storage for bikes. This is also where the fresh water and electrics compartments are situated. There are three sources of power from which to charge the batteries, the roof mounted solar panels, the engine when running and from mains hook up, which provides 12v for phones and tablets etc and 240v for household plugs.
The 85L of fresh water is stored opposite to the electrics, the 50L grey water is mounted underneath the van. Hot water is provided by a gas and electric water heater. Electric hot water is only available when plugged into shore power, gas is available anytime.
