Conversion Description

This is a rustic, 2 berth campervan. It was designed to suit our style of shorter, spur of the moment adventures or surf trips. It has also taken us on longer trips, exploring from cornwall, through the lakes, and all around the Scottish west coast.

The electrics:
The van is simple but highly capable. It has 2x110ah AGM leisure batteries, charged by split relay and by the 200w solar panel. They have been sized to power comfortably laptop charging, running a 240v fridge, and a diesel heater for warmth. With good sunlight, we have found the system to be fully ‘off-grid’. The key points are:
2x110ah AGM leisure batteries
1000w Giandel inverter (surge up to 2000w)
200w solar panel
MPPT charge controller
Split charge relay, with two-way cutoff
4x 240v 3-pin sockets
2x 12v USB sockets
4x LED lights, fully dimmable
Diesel heater, with its own tank
Russel Hobs 240v fridge
12v Tap

The build:
The build is fully functional, but needs some finishing details. In honesty, it was functional enough to get us out on the road so thats what we did!
The layout consists of 2 bench seats and a large table, which is collapses to form the bed. There is space above the cab to store the duvet, sheets, etc. The kitchen area is large, with a sink, a generously sized fridge and a 2 burner stovetop. There is an overhead cabinet, as well as a large drawer. There is space for a smaller drawer above the electrics cabinet, as well as other storage space by the water tanks and by the door. In the ceiling we mounted strong hooks to store up to 4 surfboards.

There is a 4.5kg gas tank, which for our type of use was more than a years worth of supply.
In the garage area, there is a large amount of storage beneath the bench seating. We have stored logs, wetsuits, kayaks, and SUP’s in there with ease. The raised floor where the table legs are mounted hosts a surprising amount of space, and we used it to store a bbq, guitar, and two deck chairs.
Also situated in these areas are the diesel heater and gas tank. The benches are hinged for easy access from inside the van.

The van has been fully insulated all round using a combination of rigid board and wool insulation. There are blackout curtains on each window.

For safety, there is a fire extinguisher located by the door, as well as a carbon monoxide alarm above the cooking area. The previous owners installed a latch on the back doors which you can padlock, if you wish (they also put the dent in that back door too!). There is also a steering wheel lock included.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you want anymore information, more pictures, or to discuss price!

Beds Description

The double bed is made by dropping the table between the bench seats. I am 5’10 and I am just unable to stretch out fully. With a full duvet, the bed is extremely cosy.
