CLEAN CHASIS
Old banana engine.
Not gonna win the race but will never let you down!
Hand painted with coach enamel paint bodyworks in good condition for its age (few get related scratches on body work)
Chassis is an amazing condition for its age!
No rust. All welding done last year. Can send images if wanted.
Previously owned by a five-piece band called Phat Bollard who used to tour the UK in it.
Well loved always starts in the key first time
Engine runs brilliantly.
Ready to go off grid vehicle!
I’m currently living in this full time and have done so happily for the last 2 years. Sale is only prompted because we’re leaving where we are end of Aug and I own too many vehicles. I’ve also decided I’d like to take on another project.
What can I say about Phat Bollard
Boasting an absolutely enormous wood burner. You will never be cold in the winter, its a BEAUT of a woodburner (so much so Im getting another one made) backup source of heating is a diesel heater
Really well insulated with a huge side barn door that opens up. This never gets hot in the summer either.
This is by far the best temperature controlled van I’ve ever owned!
The entire van is made out of upcycled and recycled materials as per my entire branding
If you’re interested, when I give you a tour, I’ll explained what was made of what, but the van is built with low impact sustainable building in mind!
12 volt compressor fridge that plugs into the USB has now been running for 6 months and goes down to -20. its a freezer if needed.
When I drive it can be moved out of the interior and put in the front to run on the 12v cigarette port
Instant camplux hot water shower system. Which runs on a separate smaller gas bottle. Shurflo water pump so goo pressure shower in a tanked wet room.
70l fiamma tank underslung with tap attached to the tank (no tap inside the van as got 2 dogs prefered an outside tap)
Super light sofa bed that flips out in seconds. No faff!
200w solar panels, I have an extra 100w panel here that can go on the roof alongside it. Runs into a Victron smart solar MPPT.
Two huge 140 ah varta leisure batteries
500 watt Victron inverter
Kampa twin oven, Which I finally got around to cleaning after using it pretty much every day for the last 18 months! Large gas bottle stored in porch (usually lasts a year)
This van is by no means gonna win any races. It is slow!
Research or ask around Banana engines for those that know what they are.
For those seeking full-time off grid living, this is your gal!
It’s worth noting I did get this weighed With all my stuff in here and I do come up to the weight limit but I do have a lot of stuff in here !! I’m happy to get this reweighed with all my stuff out.
I don’t think this is necessarily a touring van because it is heavy and it is slow, but I’m not saying it wouldn’t happily trundle around the roads if that aspect of it doesn’t bother you.
There is no mains or split charge relay. This is an off grid van.
Obviously I’ve been living in it for 2 years so you are going to see some minor wear and tear. But generally speaking, the van has aged really well for someone living in such a small space with a dog full time!
Few chips of paint here and there on the outside but generally the inside shows no real signs of being lived in probably because it’s so rustic in the first place!
For someone looking to live the off-grid lifestyle this is 100% the van to do it in!!
Will be taking a deposit. But its worth noting I do still live in Phat so once buyer lined up Ill move out and into my new project!
Thanks
King size bed above cab.
Mini sofa bed good for kids, pets and chilling
