Introducing a lovingly and meticulously converted Ford Transit campervan, ready for your off-grid adventures! This camper has served me well, having taken me exploring the Scottish highlands, Lake District, various wine regions in France, to name a few trips. Having taken on a new project I am not going to have the time to make the most of having this van and have decided it is time to sell. This campervan is kitted out with everything you could need for off grid living/holidaying all year round (even in the UK!)
The base vehicle is a Long Wheelbase Jumbo roof Ford Transit which mean there is lots of space including plenty of headroom.
Inside Space
Sleeping
A semi-fixed raised bed provides the comfort of a permanent sleeping arrangement while maximizing storage in the boot. Enjoy reading lights with USB chargers and porthole windows in the rear doors for ventilation and scenic views. There is even a phone/tablet mount on the ceiling so you can watch Netflix in bed.
Living space
By folding the foot of the bed down, the van can be reconfigured to give you a double bench seat. A further single seat is positioned opposite, in the entrance. A swivel table is mounted to the base of the double bench. This can provides additional kitchen worktop space or a dining table. The table can be fully removed or tucks out of the way over the bench seat/under the foot of the bed when not in use.
The single seat also houses a composting toilet and a useful shoe storage compartment.
The large windows on both sides of the van keep the ‘living area’ bright and filled with natural light. The window on the fixed side can be opened. There is a partition wall between the living area and the cab with a sliding opening lets light through (or blocks it out at night). The area above the cab has been converted into additional storage.
LED dimmable spotlights line the ceiling keeping it bright or providing mood lighting at night, an LPG heater pumps out warm air from under the bench seat, with thermostatic controls whilst a roof fan above the hob blows fresh air in or out of the van.
There are 2 double three pin plug sockets, one is powered off the inverter and the other directly from shore power when hooked up. These allow you to charge laptops or use 240v appliances if needed.
Kitchen
The Kitchen area features an ‘L shaped’ solid oak worktop with a sink and double burner hob. A 12V Fridge Freezer sits under the hob and the rest of the space is storage, with 4 drawers and a full corner cupboard unit. The sink drain is directed through the floor of the van and the waste water is collected externally.
General
The van has Dodo Mat hex sound deadening applied throughout, it has been insulated with 25-40mm foam insulation boards or loft insulation in the tight spaces, there is then a thermal vapour barrier before the walls were clad. This provides fantastic insulation and keeps condensation to a minimum.
Boot Space
The boot of the van contains the electrical, gas and water systems. There is a shower mounted on the door which provides on demand hot water (a shower curtain with tension rail is used for privacy). The boot of the van is high enough to carry bikes (with front wheel removed). There is a pull out heavy duty drawer with a fork mount so this can either be used for a bike or just allows easier access to the items stored at the back. Additional bikes will fit across the boot space (with plenty room to spare).
Exterior
On the outside of the van there is an electric hook up port, a connections to the gas supply and the underslung gas tank filling point. 2 large solar panels are mounted on the roof, keeping the batteries charged.
The outside of the van has been painted with an army green, durable, matt paint. For additional security there are heavy duty padlocks for the rear and side doors.
An awning rail above the sliding side door allows you to expand the living space with a 300 x 240 cm Wild Early sun canopy awning.
The Cab
The radio has been replaced with a Road Angel Touchscreen Stereo, with reversing camera and connections to a phone for music and satnav. There is a custom fit, heavy duty pedal lock for security.

The bench seats can be converted into a bed for a third person to sleep. The cushions fit this third bed but I would recommend using an air mattress for extra comfort.
