2012 Mitsubishi Fuso Canter 7C 18, 3.0 turbo-diesel overland expedition camper.
This conversion of an ex snap on tools vehicle was designed for touring or full-time van-life travelling for a solo or couple and is currently named Peggy.
External overall dimensions: 6700 long x 2300 wide x 3530 high (mirrors add to these dimensions)
Internal box dimensions: 4470 x 2160 x 2120
63,333 miles, currently in use so mileage may change. MOT expires December 2025 but is already booked in for the test and will be carried out earlier if sold.
Registered correctly on the V5 as a motor caravan, which means a tachograph and CPC licence is not required to drive it. It can be driven on a pre-1997 car licence, or a post-1997 C1 licence. It receives a standard Class-4 car MOT, and the road tax is a standard £171.
In full touring load with full water tanks, fuel tank, food, clothing and camping gear, returns over 22 mpg on combined motorway and road use, far better than the 10-ish mpg that a Daf or Unimog camper truck does.
Cab
– the three seats in the cab both are comfortable and on suspension bases. There is a rear-view camera for reversing.
