Volkswagen Transporter T4 SWB 1992
A 1992 SWB VW T4, uniquely converted with recycled pallet wood, in great mechanical condition, with an MOT until January 2026.
Full electrics, solar panel, diesel heater, running water, fridge, inverter, sun roofs. and more. I’m very sad to say goodbye, but I haven’t been going on enough trips recently to justify the cost of keeping the van around. Full features below:
**ELECTRICS**
– 2 x 120AH Leisure Batteries (brand new last July)
– 2 x 100W roof-mounted solar panels + solar controller
– 3000W inverter, connected to 240V fuse box running to outlets in main area + rear of van
– USB Sockets and extra 12V outlet
– Split Charge Relay
**WATER**
– 74L Underslung Water Tank
– 31L Underslung Waste Tank
– Internal monitoring system to see levels for both tanks
– 30PSI Water Pump
– Accumulator for even water pressure and flow
– Tap & sink in kitchen area
– Shower head at back (usually used for muddy boots, but could be fine for a cold shower!)
**KITCHEN**
– Gas cooker with 2 hobs and grill
– Small fridge
– Storage area for utensils
– Large fold-out table for dining/working on
**HEATING**
– 12V 5000W Diesel Heater – gets warm very quickly!
– Internal controls + remote control
– 2x outlets – one in the main section of the cab and another in the garage area for even heating
– Tank mounted at rear of van for diesel, exhaust pumped underneath
**STORAGE**
– Large ‘garage’ area at the rear of the van under bed
– Large cupboard with two doors internally
– Small storage cubby holes below seat
– Lots of storage under seat
**OTHER**
– Curtains on all windows and shutters to close off between cab and main living area
– Newly installed radio unit with wireless CarPlay for iOS and Android Auto
– Bed pulls out and seat cushions are used to make a mattress – extends to just over 6ft
– 3 seats in the cab – driver’s and a double passenger seat
– Alloy wheels
– Has always had covers on the front seats and the original seats are in great condition
– Has had a headlight loom replacement installed to fix dim headlights, which is a known issue on this model of T4
– Recently had new brake disks and pads
– As it’s a petrol, it’s suitable for LPG gas conversion
It’s a lovely van and I would love for someone else to be able to have some really nice adventures in it!
Most of the conversion was done from recycle pallet wood, aside from certain parts where plywood was more appropriate, such as the table and the shutters to the front cab. Please see the main description for more details
The bed is raised quite high in the cabin and pulls out over the seats to form a full-length small double
