Peugeot Boxer 435 XLWB (L4H2)
This 2007 Peugeot Boxer 435 XLWB initially worked for the Fire Service as a service vehicle, which is why she has been a) regularly serviced and b) painted red.
Her second owner bought her in 2021 and she was converted from service vehicle to the glorious off-grid mini-cottage you see now by DB Campers. She’s been to Wales, Ireland, the Hebrides and Yorkshire, home to one woman and her dog for a year of total bliss. Now it’s time for her to find new owners for the next adventure.
Fifi is more of a cottage on wheels than a van. Off-grid ready, the awning provides the outdoor room when it’s warm, and in the winter, the marine Reflex heater keeps you toasty and snug. Curl up on the seats and watch the flames through the viewing panel on the stove while the kettle boils. Designed with compact home comforts in mind, the cooker and hob runs on the incredibly efficient LPG gas system (with the external LPG inlet – no bottles to lug about), there’s a cute bathroom, and there’s loads of cupboard space.
Sleeps 3: 2 in the double raised bed (where you can stare at the stars through the skylight) and 1 in the clever bed that pulls out from the seats.
The gearbox, clutch and rear brake system were all replaced recently. The bodywork is amazing for her age (largely because she’s been stored inside) and an inspection by Peugeot in 2022 found the chassis to be in great shape.
(Why ‘Fifi le Feu’? She’s French and she worked for the Fire Service – gettit?)
