At Cannon Conversions we always looking to innovate and create. With ‘Benny’ we wanted to create a functional but compact space perfect for couples traveling the winding roads of England, Europe and beyond. Without compromising our core values as a company, we create highly functional, aesthetic, comfortable and memorable vehicles. ‘Benny’ ticks all these boxes and more. This beautiful handcrafted space is the perfect companion for any adventurous duo or solo traveller with fantastic fuel economy, comfortable drive and small enough to get to all the beautiful spots that this world as to offer.
‘Benny’ was our personal van for the two years, seeing the Alps, Mediterranean sea, Norwegians Fiords and more. We lived and travelled in Benny for over 5 months in total and we are aggrieved to let him go but our next travel plans involve planes not Campervans, the van has been completely renovated to new as per our usual high standards. When we decide to create our next personal camper we can’t see ourselves creating anything but a replica of this very camper, it is the perfect travel companion and will continue to be for many more miles and countries to go!

This is our 21st campervan so you can expect the highest of standards, we have such trust in our team that we offer a 3 month warranty on both our conversion and the base vehicle itself. Along with making bespoke campervans, our company is also dedicated to using as many sustainable and upcycled materials as possible to create a one of a kind camper van whilst also reducing our waste and carbon footprint.

Construction:
– A mixture of hard and soft insulation (keeping the van at the perfect temperature at anytime of the year)
– Thermal bubble foil insulation (to reduce solar gain and heat loss)
– Foil vapour barrier (to reduce moisture)
– Carpet (to reduce thermal bridging and increase sound insulation)
– The walls and ceiling are pine tongue and groove. Walls are painted in Lime White and the units in Calke Green . The ceiling is treated with Danish oil.
– The floor is hard wood ply, covered with Howdens luxury flooring (easy to clean and sound deadening)
– Natural solid oak work surfaces

External:
– 200w solar panel (can keep the camper running completely off grid)
– Maxx air fan (with climate control and remote)
– 4 windows (1 opening nearest cooker) 80% tint
– Reversing sensors

Kitchen:
– Modern styled oak worktop
– custom bespoke units and doors (made you utilise all available space and save on weight)
– sustainable fair trade Vietnamese rattan
– 2 ring camping gas hob, (meaning you have the freedom to cook inside or out to more enjoy the beautiful surrounds youve driven too)
– Collapsible washing up bowl
– External shower tent and pressure shower unit for private outdoor showering
– 2x 15L removable fresh water tank with spouts
– 30L dometic chest fridge (very energy efficient)
– Pull out oak slats to create the full bed ( which are stored under the sofa section of the bed mattress)
– Handmade, individual door knobs

Internal electrics
– 260ah leisure battery (stored under the passengers seat)
– 1x 12v socket
– 2x USB sockets
– MPPT solar controller (controls the 200w solar panels on the roof which easily creates enough electric to run all appliances without needing to charge the batteries, making this van the perfect off grid camper)
– Maxx air fan (with climate control and remote)
– 6 LED warm coloured lights with dimmer switch
– 30L fridge
– 12v fuse box (all appliances clearly labelled and room to add more devices if you like)
– Split charge relay (charges the leisure batteries whilst the engine is running)
– 1500w pure sine wave inverter, running 1 extension leads in the living area, for a total of 3 x 240v sockets. (These are available to use fully off the grid. There’s an extra control panel making it easy to turn off and on to save energy, making it perfect for using normal appliances such as your air fryer, hair dryer or laptop chargers.)
– Handmade blinds covering all windows (including matching magnetic ones for the sliding doors)
– Custom memory foam mattress with sections to turn it into a sofa during the day
– 2 x wall units (perfect for storing clothes)
– 2 x chest units next to the bed of extra storage
– There’s also storage in the mid seat in the cab perfect for quick to access items when on the road

Bed area:
The bed has two positions sofa mode and bed mode. We wanted to keep things as simple as possible without sacrificing on comfort. Oak slats pull out from under the main mattress to extend the bed to its full length three foam bed blocks are then added to create the full bed. When not in use, these blocks can be used to create a lovely soft sofa. The bed is raised to maximise all space available within the under bed storage area, whilst still allowing enough space to sit up in bed.
