For anyone interested – I got zero response from this advert – fair response and a good price sale on eBay.
Make of that what you will.
Brand new 250l water tank.
24v and 240v Power shower water pump. Expansion vessel
Washing machine – programmable
Fridge Freezer 98l
Hansgrohe shower mixer valve
LED lights internal and external
Absolutely stacks of essential items you’ll need to build PLUS Tools,
New Router, Disc cutter, H/D Drill Impact wrench – sockets. Workmate. Infra red measure etc etc – absolutely £1000’s spent
Full kitchen storage container pack
New double bed base SLEEP CROSS WAYS – not something you can do in a van body
8.5Kw Eberspaecher heater – untested
5Kw New Vevor heater – with High altitude controller*
Just add furniture to your design and plan a (long) route
Chassis part prepped. Some fabrication will be required where the hydraulic lift was removed.
Tacho battery dead. 🙁 – so no MOT. Make sure you understand this – OK?
It does drive how you’d expect BUT it will need some recommissioning come the day you get it finished
Side door glass and runner broken
Rust on one wheel arch
*And this week a suspension air tank has fractured! New one with the truck though 🙂
It will need to taken away – you’re not going to drive it home for sure.
(I can give you a contact for that)
EVERYTHING stripped out and cleared – approx. weight 4.4T. My target for full build was 5.25 / 5.5T
Old age and health issues force very very reluctant sale.
Mission not impossible – a great project for a person who loves an adventure and a challenge!!
What to say?
I brought this base to drive across Asia to a children’s home I support near Kathmandu – however poor health (both) side-lined me and now I’ve given up the dream. (I’m 70 soon)
Over to you – I’ve spent a huge amount of time stripping the body out – getting rid of the huge hydraulic lift was a ball ache – But – in my view, absolutely essential for a professional level build. There’s no way to seal these doors effectively and it weighs 48kg on it’s own – so get rid
So – the main advantages are – you can fit a full size bed sideways (new sprung base supplied), something that the steel bodied vans compromise.
Talking of body – the GRP body is an absolute bonus regarding insulation and thermal transfer. It’s also quite easy to either to cut windows where you want – or fill in places where they are and you don’t! Plus – no forever repairing rusty panels.
The other great help is – a totally flat floor. NO compromising where the toilet goes etc etc. Execute your design to suit YOU.
Don’t underestimate the amount of work – but the potential both for creating a awesome build AND the long term earning potential (there’s a similar build on here for £64.000) is enormous.
If you’re thinking of Off Road, and I was – then it’s easy to create a human LSD type effect with some toggle switches and 20′ of 6mm air hose.
Make sure you fully understand this is not roadworthy – No Tacho – so No MOT (and won’t be until you’ve finished the build out) and will need taking away – OK?
please note is: this has always been registered as a Special Vehicle – not an HGV which I understand makes change of classification easier when the day comes 🙂
Inspection by appointment only as it’s in a barn and I need to respect the farmers space
I’ve got some rad build ideas – but I doubt you’ll want to hear them – but the offers there.
