Detailed Information
Vehicle Description

Ray the campervan will be sold with everything you need to complete the conversion (this excludes an inverter which will be needed should you wish to have 230v electrics). It would make a great investment – for someone who can put a little time and love into finishing Ray, he’ll be either a great camper to use or to sell on for profit. It is 90% done, please read the below information for more details on what is and isn’t done.

Lovingly converted this van has a valid MOT until 26 March 2026.

Following an MOT fail in late 2023 we spent £2500 on a full service and fixing some minor issues to ensure it runs perfectly. This was done with Mercedes-Benz. Following a fail in 2025 due to an engine light fault, this was resolved and fixed through a software reset, there are no mechanical issues.

Fuel type: Diesel
Gears: 6
Length: LWB 6967mm (6.97m)
Height: Hi-top 2831mm (2.83m) unladen
Width: 2.35m (incl. wing mirrors)

Overall engine works great, it is a real powerhouse of a van. With brand new wheels and tyres it can handle some off road travel. Overall condition is excellent, although there are some minor bodywork marks which need working on, such as dent in side door, and two dents on the outer body shown in the images. These are cosmetic and could easily be fixed through popping out.

Conversion Description

Ray the Camper – the perfect project to finish off and live the van life dream!

Ray the Campervan is an ex-DHL delivery van that has been partially converted to a comfortable, usable space perfect for travelling in. We’ve loved converting Ray to the point he’s at now, but due to time limitations and other priorities we’ve sadly not been able to finish him! Now it’s time for the next person to finally complete this wonderful project and give Ray the adventures he deserves!

He’s been carefully prepped and insulated making him perfect for hot or cold countries. There’s vinyl floor that’s easy to clean, tongue and groove cladding on the ceiling, a mixture of handmade and pre-made cabinets, a full-size shower, a double bed, seating for 4 in the lounge area, a kitchen and a comfortable cab area with swivel seats and overhead storage.

While he isn’t finished, he has low mileage and buckets of potential to truly create a campervan of your own.

Bathroom:
Built-in shower that has been waterproofed with tanking and PVC boards, silicone and durable waterproof flooring. There is no shower door, this would need adding, and we would recommend redoing some of the silicone as we never got round to it. Overall though, a great area to shower and room to place a toilet.

Kitchen:
The kitchen is a bespoke, hand-built kitchen with lots of charm! It includes a 240v electric hob, a sink and lots of storage space. There are two large overhead cabinets in the kitchen space, as well as a frame for a tall cupboard to the left of the sink (needs completing). Please note these van does not have an inverter installed yet, so the 240v Hob does not yet work. It could however be swapped out for a Gas one if that was your preference.

There is a 12V Dometic CRX50 fridge/freezer, included and built into a cupboard.

Exterior:
– external socket for charging in place (would need connecting to an inverter)
– locks
– new alloys and tyres: We had brand new Rogue Alloys and tyres fitted in 2024. The van has done less than 1000 miles since these were fitted.
– windows: one window in sliding door (does not open), 1 window on opposite side (does open), one window fitted in bedroom area (does open)

Other:
– Over the cab storage has been created and fully lined with vehicle carpeting. There are swivel seats on both the driver and passenger seats.
– Maxxfan fitted in living area
– Top of the range Dometic Heki Skylight (openable) above bed, brings in a lovely breeze.
– Genuine Lagun Detachable Table leg included, you will need to make a table top to attach to it
– Best in range swivel seats installed, you can twist the seats around to create a larger lounge area.
– Internet antenna on roof, will also provide the router for it so onboard wifi – just need a sim card

The van has been meticulously prepped for being a comfortable camper. As part of the van-prep it has:
– insulation – board and recycled plastic insulation
– sound deadening
– exterior drain holes filled

Electrics:
The van has been fitted with 12V electrics using top of the range Victron equipment.
The lights and fridge are powered by a battery which can be charged by the 525 watts of solar panels (3x 175 panels on roof).
There is also a Victron Orion which keeps the rear battery charged when the van is in motion, additionally we installed a Lynx Distributor for power distribution.
We also will be providing a Cerbo GX which has not been installed. Unfortunately we never got around to installing an inverter but the mains link up is fitted into the van ready for a hook up when ready. 240v cabling has been installed in the van, just needs hooking up. Also further 12v cabling available for hooking up mod lighting or a TV. See pictures for the setup.

There are spotlights in the ceiling and 2 reading lights in the bed area (all working on 12V electrics).

Heating:
– Truma Heater and Water Heater. This is included and hasn’t been hooked up.

Water:
– 100L water tank
– underslung waste tank 52L

What needs doing?
With everything that’s included above, you might be asking what’s left? While Ray is able to be used (and we have used him twice in his current condition), he still needs:
– waste water tank connecting, although tanks are in you need to do pipe connecting under the van
– Truma heater and water heater connecting (vis-a-vis there is no hot water or heating in the van currently)
– Some cladding to be completed
– Kitchen tiling
– Hob – once the inverter is in this can be plugged in or exchange for gas, if you do get gas you will need to install a vent
– Shower area needs finishing off
– Connecting up mains power for the inverter
– Cushions in the lounge need material made for them, we will provide cushions though
– Water tank has water sensor cabling installed, but the sensor panel needs installing
– Light switches although available are not installed

Basically everything else is making good. That said, this van can be customised however you like, lots of opportunity.

Beds Description

There is a double bed located at the back across width-ways. The bed is made from Northshore bed frames securely bolted onto the van frame. The van will be sold with the Simba Sleep mattress that has been slightly adjusted to fit comfortably on the frame. The van has been slept in only twice so is pretty much brand new! There can be a third birth made from the bench seat and the driver’s swivel chair.
