Hymer
The Hymer (We call her Heidi) was registered in 2004. A service and MOT will be done on 24th April. A new Leisure battery has been installed.
INTERIOR
She creates a lovely roomy space, ideal for families or grandparents like us. Travelling as a couple, she offers lots of space, and for families, various sleeping arangements. We often sleep three children above the cab and 2 adults below. The bottom bed can be opened right accross or as a double and a single making room for 6 sleepers in all. 5 three point seatbelts and one rear facing lap belt, means safe travel for families. There is also loads of storage with 2 underseat lockers (we keep our inflatable kayak here), a spacious wardrobe and a number of overhead lockers. Externally there is a bike rack and a Fiama wind out awning which has faded with age but is still very useful. The small garage is useful for tables etc and there is a drawer useful for games and camping chairs.
The Kitchen, has a hob, oven with spit roast, fridge with small freezer and plenty of storage. The shower room has a shower, toilet and sink.
It is a great all season van with insulated body and Trumer heating which blows warm air to your feet, keeping you nice and toasty. The cab heating and aircon work, but are commensurate with age; They take a bit of time to get going.
We have the original curtains and shower door, both of which we removed for our enjoyment, but which can be easily rehung.
WHAT WE LOVE:
We love the social space created by the layout; the smooth ride, (I am an older woman and find her easy to drive). Hymer bodies are of a construction that means they rarely suffer from damp. We love the various bed options, that there are lots of big windows. The length of the van makes it easier for parking in carparks: In fact, although we’ve had the van a short time (only giving up because of health reasons) we’ve loved our trips in her, she really feels like home from home. We particularly like pub stopovers where we only have to buy a meal!

The convertable beds also open to make one large bed right accross the van.
