Vauxhall Combo
This combo has one previous owner before we converted into a micro camper. He was a proud carpet fitter so the van has not seen a tough trade life. The van has been well looked after with regular servicing and all repairs as needed by both the previous owner and us. It’s a 1.3L Diesel with 5 gears and low mileage for the age. Its running very well with both gearbox and engine feeling strong and responsive.
MOT expires February 2024
We’ve owned it for 2 years and have done the following in the last 12 months:
– 4 new tyres
– New front shock absorbers and coils
– New front brake discs and pads
– Full service

We bought this van 2 years ago as a vehicle to drive around town and park easily but also something we could take off on climbing trips and weekend shenanigans. We’ve insulated it, added an electrical system with solar power, inverter 12v USB charging and lighting, and made a great bed which doesn’t compromise on storage.
We wanted as large a bed as possible so we built a full width modular bed system made from 3 large storage boxes with extra large drawers which maximise the access to the storage space below the bed, and topped this with 15cm of memory foam mattress. One of these boxes features the kitchen with two burners, a grill and space for food and pots, one contains removable sections to create different pods for clothing and another is designed for larger items suchs as climbing equipment.
There’s further storage areas hidden below the floor to keep your jack, Europe travel kit and cheap french wine on the drive home from Font and another one above the cab.
We also left the six original tie-down points accessible, so it’s easy to secure load or use it as a pet seatbelt.
We aimed for a really sustainable conversion and used lots of reclaimed woods and facebook marketplace gatherings which are drowning in history and gave us a real individual feel.
The van has been on boring commutes to work, sweet short trips, adventurous long trips, climbing trips with the bed in, kayak trips without the bed in, and has even helped collect a sofa.
