Wilson was first registered in 2012 and has done 250,000 miles, however we had the whole engine replaced in 2020 so he is reconditioned and good as new! The engine was replaced around 235,000 miles, and the new engine has only done 85,000 miles…Plenty of life left in him! To give him a clean bill of health, at the same time we also had a new alternator, starter motor, battery, belts and turbo fitted.
He passed his MOT this year on 29th April with flying colours – not even any advisories! So he is ready for a new adventure!
He has some cuts and scrapes along his side, as you can probably see from the photos. It is nothing serious, and just needs a coat of paint. Other than that the bodywork is fine and there is no rust at all.
Meet Wilson!
This is the original Bobil Vans van! We converted this ourselves back in 2019 before we became a professional converter. We made the van as homely as possible, handcrafted using largely reclaimed and upcycled materials. Wilson took us on our Europe road trip; all the way to the Arctic circle, down to Albania and back again. So he is fully off-grid capable.
We hired him out on quirky campers during 2020 and 2021 so he is a quirky approved van, and could probably be hired out again if you wished! We are only selling him now, as we originally built him when there was just the 2 of us…now there is soon to be 4 of us in our family! And we just can’t make the layout in Wilson work for a family of 4.
