Smart VW Crafter Medium Wheelbase Conversion

This is our very much-loved bespoke Crafter Camper. It is Medium wheel base with high top, and built to maximize storage space with extra bed space for occasional pre-teen, large secure space for dogs (even when all the doors are open) with additional bike storage under.
Converted in 2018, The major work ie… windows/insulation/floor/electrics and sunroof were done by a professional conversion company, the gas was fitted by a gas engineer, but does not hold a certificate.
It is a gorgeous bright and airy van with high double bed which can be slept in either width or long ways.
4 x triple shelved units underneath (3 to inside, 1 to rear).
Separate partition for bikes or bulk storage with moveable partition door for 2 No. Bikes or extra space.
Middle area is high enough to walk through bent double and has a sliding mesh grill to the front and a removable panel to the rear. There is a waterproof dog bed made to fit that can be hung on the panel out of the way when not in use.
Karndean laminate wood effect flooring throughout.
Spacious central area with two removable box storage seats, each with waterproof seat cover.
Double hob burner with sink and tap set into a unit that has ample storage for kitchen goods, gas bottle and water storage.
The spare single bed folds down over the kitchen unit. It has a removable fabric screen that acts as a tent for privacy or a deterrent for a smaller child to roll out, and has a zipper opening. Easily folded away with mattress in situ it acts as a shelf when not in use. This can easily be completely removed if not required.
240V double sockets, spotlights and 12V charger with USB inbuilt to walls.
Refrigerated pull out fridge.
Opening sunroof with integrated fly mesh or black out blind.
Tow bar (I have never used this as it was already fitted to van before conversion) & 240 V electric hook up.
Split charger system that charges the leisure batteries whilst the engine is on and isolates when the engine is off.
It is a very easy van to drive and considering the wood paneling it doesn’t make a sound when driven. It is a very much-loved van that has given my daughter and I a lot of adventures and made travelling with a child and dogs very easy. Sadly selling it as we don’t really need the extra space anymore.
