2016 Ford Transit Luton Campervan – ULEZ Compliant – Ready for Adventure
As a super keen amateur carpenter, I poured my passion into converting this exceptional Ford Transit Luton into a spacious, practical and modern campervan that was briefly our home on wheels for a few fantastic adventures – including an unforgettable trip to Spain where she performed flawlessly.

Why we’re selling:
We’ve recently moved to London for new (slightly un-expected) career opportunities and are excited to embark on our next project of building a garden rooom. The van had less than 6 months of use once fully completed last year.

The Van
This 2016 Ford Transit Luton is ULEZ compliant, making it perfect for overnighting in London, while also being fuel efficient. The engine has just received a comprehensive £5k full service and easily has another 250,000 miles of reliable motoring ahead. The chassis, cab, and running gear are all in excellent condition – this van is built to last and ready for the long haul.

The real star here is the incredible space. With the Luton body style, you get that game changing extra height that transforms van life from cramped quarters into genuinely comfortable living. At 7 feet of internal height, you can actually stand up properly and move around with ease – a luxury that standard panel van conversions simply can’t match.

While I handled the carpentry work, I made sure the critical systems were installed by qualified professionals:

Electrics: Fully certified electrician installation with proper consumer unit, RCD protection, and professional wiring
Plumbing: Hot and cold water systems installed to industry standards with proper pressure testing
Gas: LPG system professionally fitted and certified for complete safety and peace of mind by AutoGas2000

The interior features a clean, modern aesthetic inspired by Scandinavian design principles. I’ve incorporated IKEA cabinets throughout. The result is a bright, airy space that feels more like a boutique apartment than a van conversion.

Weight & Load Info
The van was last weighed at 3510kg with half a tank of fuel and without the sofa and fridge. These fittings have since been added, bringing the estimated current weight to around 3560kg (1.7% over technical limit).
For older UK licence holders (tests passed before 1 Jan 1997), your licence includes the C1 category, so you can legally drive up to 7.5t without any extra tests. For anyone looking to optimise payload, there’s scope to easily bring it back under by removing or swapping some of said furniture, depending on your needs. We found the van ran great with the extra weight all over Spain etc.
